Aye, I've been having many issues with the cannons as well. Enemy ships are constantly freezing and jumping to random places, so I've given up on training cannons. I really hope that they fix the lag sometime.

I have to wonder, are testers having any issues with lag on the test server? Or has recent patches fixed that?
