POTCO Spring Olympics 2011

Ahoy there mates!

Last year, I hosted an in-game event to commemorate the kick-off of the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, Canada. The event brought the Olympic Games to our fair waters, and was an open challenge to any and all Pirates to see who could show off their skills, and claim the title of a true Caribbean Olympian! Many pirates from all guilds and walks of life came to strut their stuff and show us all who was just a meager bilge rat, and who was a true Pirate Legend! I was proud to say that the games were great fun, and brought together plenty of pirates - but I realized the success of the games was bigger than I anticipated!

Over the course of the weeks after the games, I receieved messages from many pirates a Guildmasters, asking if I planned to do something in the two-year gap between Winter 2010, and Summer 2012. While my original response was "No," I soon realized that it wasn't a matter of tradition, it was a matter of uniting pirates in friendly competition. So, I have decided to oblige.

This year, I plan to once again host the Pirates of the Caribbean Online Olympic Games, this time in the Spring of 2011! This is an open invitation to ALL pirates and guilds to show the entire Caribbean what you are made of! You are invited to take part in the Caribbean's ultimate test of strength, will, and strategy! Are you prepared to see how you stack up against the Caribbean?

This competition will span across all aspects of the Caribbean, including PvP, SvS, cards, and much more! This is the time where you can truely show the Caribbean if you are as strong as you think you are! I invite any and all pirates to take part, but be warned - ye'll need to be a pirate of true strength and savvy to make it to the top. Here be the rules if yer interested:

Rules
  • Glitches, hacks, or any type of cheating which helps your pirate or your game perform better will not be allowed, and if you are caught, it will result in automatic disqualification of you and/or your team.
  • Pirates are expected to mantain a sportsman-like atmosphere - booing, arguing or trouble-making of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Once you are placed with a team for a certain event, your team stays as is - switches will NOT be allowed unless under certain circumstances.
  • The compeition will be seperated in to two divisions: Single pirates and Teams. The events will remain the same in both divisions, the only difference is the number of people you are working with. Please note, if you sign up for one of the divisions, you will not be allowed to sign up for the other division.
  • Teams are allowed to be made up of any pirates, whether friends or guild, so as long as teams do not exceed 3 members.
  • If a Team chooses to represent their guild, that guild cannot have more than 1 represented team. Still, pirates of that guild that are not in the offical guild team can be a part of another team, or sign up for singles.
  • Single pirates and teams are allowed to sign up for as many events as you want. This competition is just for fun, and I want to make sure everybody gets a chance to have fun.

And now, on to the actual events themselves! If you are interested in joining one of the events below, , just post on the thread. Also, keep in mind, the current number of open spots shown will grow in the event more people want to join in:
