"Sorry but I disagree. I spend a lot of gold on the same said weapons but the time I have been able to use them to help me pays for the loss gold. I would not be as far if I did not have those weapons bonuses when I needed them."

I think that this type of argument is missing the point.

The point is that this is inequitable, in that it gives newer players an extreme advantage over those who came before them. They will have these weapons much sooner than you or I did, save a lot of gold getting them, and make gold quicker. In the end they will have the same status, capped amount of gold, and weapons. BUT they will have gotten to that point having done a LOT less work to get there.

Frankly, it cheapens the hours previous players have put into the game.
