Health/Voodoo increase at level up??

My level 40 pirate's HPs has gone from 2007 hps to 2412 since the update, he did go up one cannon level (the only thing not mastered).

Don't think a cannon level would normally raise health, at least not like that.. would it?

I'll take it anyhow!

Perhaps when a level is achieved its readjusting/calculating all the new hps adjustments etc and updating the pirate to where they 'should' be?
