I applaud you for keeping your cool for as long as you did.

It's very sad indeed that someone would stoop to hurling insults and gloating in a game; nevertheless, it's apparent that some players have absolutely NO real life, or maybe a serious mental inhibition. You seem to have encountered such an individual. I'm really sorry to hear that happened to you.

To answer one of your points.....
Yes, I do think officers (especially fully mastered level 40's) should be held to far higher standards than members.

As an officer, it's my duty and privilege to make sure people (guildmates or not) can enjoy the game as much as possible. As a result, I get really really gassed when I find someone cheating during a curse (you know who you are. oh, and don't let me catch you either - I will NOT hesitate to report you for it) or being immature in Ship vs. Ship. Why? Because it's ruining the game experience for others; plain and simple. Long and short = I fully mastered my skills to help others enjoy the game and have fun, not to pummel and humiliate them.

Another thing, I would not hesitate to kick someone like the punk you described from a guild - in absentia!
