I don't know if you could have a server dedicated to PvP without the servers filling up. Lag that would be involved would close PvP for alot more people than it would open it up for.

Though some of these changes would be great, there can always be a better alternative that isn't so shortminded. Last edited by Dr. Zeppers; 12-18-2008 at 04:13 AM.. |

League, I am aiming for balance also. That's why I believe if there is to be a notoriety cap raise, then there must be weapons level, gold cap level raises and a new story chapter all occurring simultaneously. One without another would be futile.
Simply becaue there are 5 "slots" or "dots" in each weapon skill category now doesn't mean that they can't be increased. Take cutlass for instance...add "x" and "y" (whatever Disney chooses to call them) to the skill set. Because what is the point in raising the notoriety level if you are gaining no new skills or points? What is the point in raising the notoriety level or weapons levels if you have nowhere to put the ensuing gold? I included my 1's as a pack because I believe they all need to be implemented at the same time. As for the rest of my wish list, I should have stipulated that it wasn't necessarily in the order of my preference. As I stated, I really couldn't care less if there are pets in the game or not. It's a WISH list...that's why I included Mermaid Island...I think that would be a fun addition. As for the curse. Well. Yes. It IS unavoidable if you are in the game, playing, and the curse presents itself. I, personally, don't prefer PvP play. And really, that's what the curse is. It interrupts my normal play. I was fine with it during Halloween as it related to the holiday. However, I think it is another stall/misdirection ploy on Disney's part at this point in time. "Keep the players dazzled with an Event and they won't notice the lack of substantial content additions". My opinion is this...I pay to play this game. I also pay to watch cable T.V. If my cable provider decides to interrupt programming on every single channel and provide an Andy Griffith retrospective marathon across the board, on all 200 + channels, I have the right to complain. That is not the programming I agreed to pay for. I feel the same about the curse...I did not agree to have my regular play interrupted by an event that, in my case, forces me to either stop playing, or alter my play to accomodate the event. The curse events are scheduled for the weekends, which, as a working adult, are the times I most have available to me to play. Yes, you're correct. Raising a level only achieves a goal until the new level is reached. Ummm...that's kind of my whole point. Is this game stagnant? Am I to continue paying to play something in which I can never advance? I'm not going to pay to maintain an arbitrary level I've achieved. What is the point in that? I'm at the top. Why would I continue to pay? If there's nowhere else to go there's really no point in it is there? This isn't an arcade video game. I don't have the the satisfaction of seeing my initials at the top of a list until someone better comes along and bumps me off the top spot. As for rapidly running through the game...I'm a Founder. I've been playing the game for over a year now. I have ONE level 40 pirate. Just one, and that character only achieved that rank 2 months ago. My goal in this game has never been to rush through the game to achieve an end result. I have 3 other unlimited characters who are NOT mastered. But, having mastered one pirate I see the writing on the wall...when they get to level 40...then what? The same thing as my one mastered pirate. Nothing. There you are. You can help friends, (which is a noble cause, don't get me wrong). But there's nothing more on a personal level to strive for. I can keep filling in the same crossword puzzle and then erasing my answers and starting over again ad infinitum...I can keep reading the same one book over and over again, but, as our beloved Captain Jack asked, "to what point and purpose!?" |

Ok, we have seen the numbers. The highest you 'could' get in notoriety if the game allowed is somewhere around 42, as mastered weapons gain no further weapons reps or notoriety points. Without upgrading weapons levels we could never get to say Notoriety 50.

If notoriety is raised, I think the odds are still by far in favor of a new complete different weapon type.
If you think about it, what would happen if 5 points and levels were added to dagger, cannon, and such things they have been cutting back. 5 levels would likely bring in a full effect of barrage of 25%, blade instinct, this making these items back to what we had when they took it away. (well some of it back) They didn't want us to have that, so it's most likely we would see a new weapon. Gm's at the tavern take over asked a few times what type of other weapons we would like to see as well. Pvp in my view has had way to much work towards it, and much more towards trying to fix it. It does not fall in a category everyone plays, uses, or does. Ship customization and such things would be something everyone uses, if they svs, or like taking crews out. A overall player use, for just about all types of game play. This is what I would rather see than focusing on side aspects of the game, and groupings of some players. Biggest frustrations of so many has been nothing more. So I would agree the a new chapter needs to come in place at the top priority. Notoriety, as well as something to work while doing said new chapter. |

I hadnt thought of this, that could contribute quite a bit, but would one be enough for a reasonable notoriety cap raise?
