Repeatedly Getting Booted...Help?
Even before this huge update, I've had serious problems with getting kicked off. Started around 1 1/2 - 2 months ago. Most of the time I can be on for a few minutes to half an hour-ish, and I get the wonderful "connection has been lost" message. What I don't understand is how it went from hardly ever happening (I mean literally about once a month, unless they were having major tech issues) to happening multiple times daily. My connection is great. My drivers are fine. My firewall isn't blocking the game (they've told me this is the problem a LOT).
Can someone please explain to me anything else I can do? I have some minor computer knowledge but nothing highly technical. ![]() I send a Bug Report EVERY time I get booted now, so they should be getting thoroughly annoyed with me. I'm at a loss for what to do, and I'm getting really tired of not being able to make use of my hard-earned money. (Wish I could keep track of all the times this happened...they'd owe me about 6 months in free play! )Sorry for the length of the post and thanks in advance for anyone that has any suggestions! |

So you have allowed ports 80, 443, and 667, and 7667?
You mention Firewall...software? hardware? both? |

Well, I finally got on live chat (and by finally, I mean after about half an hour of waiting) the other day, and he helped me a little. I plugged into the main modem (I'm using wireless on my laptop) and played for a while like that, and now for whatever reason I can take the laptop anywhere again and not get booted. I'm still having major issues getting into the game, but once I'm in it seems to be fine. I have to try about 5-6 times to log in.
Anyways, the major part of the problem is fixed. I can handle having to type my password a bunch of times, as long as I can stay in the game once I'm in. Happy (early!) Halloween to everyone, and thanks for trying to help!

I used to have the same problem you're having. First I sent the log report to support and they told me that the video card of my laptop is outdated...that is impossible, because the video card I have on it is an NVIDIA 86000 GS 1GB...so support had no clue.
What I did to fix this problem was that I went to my routers manufacturing website and search for the version and upgrade the firmware. The firmware of the router was outdate and was causing these disconnects. If you have a router at home, I would recommend you then to upgrade its Firmware. Good luck Matey! |

Upgrade to service pack 3 if you're on XP. This was a recurring issue with many before not being able to connect at all.

Quite the contrary, since Service Pack 3 slows XP down a bit, I have refused to put it on my pcs. I'm guessing its might be some networking issue that is being "reconfigured" when you put this service pack on, and not necessarily the service pack itself being put on. However, if it is this, applying the service pack would be the 'easiest' way for most. |

Download speeds thanks to the enhanced and retweaked firewalls have also increased. I have myself experienced faster startup speeds, much faster download speeds (SP2 actually was strangling and bottlenecking my routers speed.) and a more stable performance. |
