From Meghan Plunderette:
Feet squished into the sand, as she paced for several moments longer. A glint of light. Pause, movements not curious so much as ...cautionary. She felt her breath catch in her throat as the seconds seemed to feel like hours. Brown-amber eyes focusing throught the darkness on...what is it? Tension, slamming through her body as she took on step towards where the glint of steel that had caught the firelight for . . . just a moment. Eyes continued to search, seeking . . . seeking what? Was she here? Or had her Lord somehow heard about this and sent someone to thwart her plans? What of the children? A thousand questions without answers went screaming through her mind as her own fingers went groping for a small, unimpressive dagger. More suited for cutting meat than . . . well cutting anyone or using to defend oneself. Another step, and then another. "Hello? Whose there?" Slow your breathing Meg . . . slow it down. This isn't the end of things . . . just the beginning of new arrangements. He couldn't have found out. There's no way. She stopped her footfalls all the while muttering . . . "Probably one of those darn crabs again." a sigh . . . she hadn't stopped to think that the roasting corpses would bring the fellows still living nearer . . . should have thought that one through a little more, eh? |

From Kani:
As I knelt behind the rock watching and waiting for the right moment this Meghan Plunderette began to pace around the fire. Back and forth kicking up the sand with her bare feet as she went. She seemed to be nervous or was she just inpatient?
As I was pondering those thoughts I heard a sound behind me. I had been so deep in thought that I never saw or heard a giant crab come up behind me. I leaped up suddenly and scrambled over the rock and pulled my cutlass from my side. It continued to make its way to me as I backed up to give it some room. I despise these vile creatures! Without thinking I swung my cutlass swiftly over my head and took the despicable creature down quickly. As I pulled my cutlass from its body I saw a glint of light glance off the steel blade. I suddenly realized as I turned that I had gotten too far from the deep darkness that had hid me so well. I quickly stepped back into it and as I did I noticed the lone female had stopped pacing about the sandy beach. She seemed frozen with fear as she looked towards the darkness to where I still stood. I heard the sharp intake of her breath as she took a step forward. She called out to the darkness to where I stood, "Hello?" with a tremor in her voice. She took another step then another . . ."Who's there?" with a little more conviction in her voice this time. Still undecided on what to do I watched as she turned quickly on her heels and walked back to the light of the fire all the while muttering under her breath as she went. Can I trust her? How far is she willing to go with this venture? These thoughts kept me on edge and undecided. I chuckled to myself as I hear her call out a challenge to show myself or else! She is either very foolish or very brave! Aye it is time to see what this wench is made of. As I walked toward the light of the fire I thought of all the lives that were involved in this plot and it put a heavy burden upon my heart. Then . . . the flashes of memories of how this Lord and Master has treated us wenches came flooding thru and overtook those thoughts. Vengenance grew stronger and stronger with each step I took until I finally stepped into the light with cutlass in hand. Hell hath no fury like mine when the Sea Goddess has been scorned and she has been scorned way too many times by his Lordship's arrogance and his lust for fresh wenches! It is time . . . time for the mutiny to begin. |

Jane (the Lord and Master's sister)
As I sit behind a rock and watch as these two traitorous wenches about to meet each other and devise a plan to take down the Lord and Master but more importantly, my brother. I can't help but wonder why? Why would they do this to John? He is more than a Master to me, he is my brother and I have known him all my life. My brother would love to know about these plans they have, yet they do not realize they shall never succeed in this plot! For I am the sister of the Master and his traitorous wife and first officer shall get what they deserve!
I hear Meg call out, "Who's there?" I hope they have not spotted me! I know I shall die and be lost to the sea forever if I am found. I watch as Kani kills a giant crab. She is good with the cutlass and I think of how she would also kill me just as swiftly if she knew what I was about to do. I move in a little closer, I see glints of light here and there as they move in closer to one another. They are prepared to take on anyone that threatens this mutiny they are planning against my brother. A part of me can't help but wonder. . . should I join them or should I go now and tell John of this secret meeting? I decide to lie in wait a while longer and see how this meeting progresses. I know the Lord and Master has decided he is King of the Sea and no one can match his knowledge nor experience but he is mistaken. For there are plenty more that have seen and done more then he. I fear that if he continues with this arrogant attitude of his much longer, everyone shall be after him and not just the wenches! |

Meghan Plunderette
Steel . . . the glint of cold steel sat just outside of my peripheral vision.
I froze . . . it wasn't one of those accursed crabs . . . but something else . . . someone else! My mind forgot about the roasting crab wrapped in wet leaves entirely. The feel of the sand scratching against my feet as I moved for cover and called into the darkness . . . "Who's there? I'm armed . . . I'm not afraid of you." Maybe a little, but then . . . we never know who will try to cheat us out of who these days do we? The king's men are thiefs . . . the pirates are thiefs . . . the world is full of stealing cutthroats all wielding different titles . . . one can never be too careful. Was it one or two . . . her attention seemed broken. She hissed into the air, "Traitors and fiends . . . or friends . . . show yourself so we may cross steel or words!" |

John...the Lord and Master
Inside a tavern on Tortuga sits a man surrounded by several scantily clad women. He is a young man but is old of mind. His eyes are set deep with thought and dark they be. He sits in this tavern knowing what is about to transpire against him and he knows the plan he has had from the beginning will finally be set in motion. His crew is a fine bunch of lads and lasses but are becoming too secretive for his liking. And now the hammer of his wrath must fall!
