Very long log out times since December

Not sure if everyone is experiencing this or not, but since the December update, when I Shift-F2 to logout, it takes a noticeably long time to unwind.

Looking in my pirates directory just now, I see the file pirates-090120_125517.log which went from about 80 KB to 1,288 KB when I pressed shift-F2.

The contents of the file are interesting. Hundreds of lines of:

:loader(error): Couldn't load file models/shipparts/cannon_bp_port_fire.bam: not found on model path (currently: "phase_2:phase_3:phase_4:phase_5")
:01-20-2009 13:20:16 ActorInterval(warning): Unknown animation for actor: Fire
:loader(error): Couldn't load file models/shipparts/cannon_bp_port_open.bam: not found on model path (currently: "phase_2:phase_3:phase_4:phase_5")

and after the logout messages start, 6,384 lines of:

OBJECT:**removed**, <class 'pirates.battle.CannonballProjectile.CannonballPro jectile'>

before it finally closes the log file. Is this memory leak still present on TEST or is this memory leak only on OPEN?

I never noticed but i do use the shift f2 log out.

is pressing Shift-F2 a intended way to log out? if not, then thats why.

I would log out the normal way to keep this from happening. It only takes me a few seconds to log out.

I do not play on a Macintosh computer. Why would you assume something so completely unrelated, as that?

Logging out "the normal way" has the same problem, only slower, as it adds extra steps: F7 then click LOGOUT then after the long delay I still have to click QUIT on the pirate selection screen. Shift-F2 is a "cleaner" shutdown than simply closing the game with Alt-F4.

If I've only been on a short time, with no sailing/SvS, it takes only a few seconds. But as a pirate, I'm usually sailing. So I see this with increasing regularity...especially after sinking a few hundred ships.

I never use the Shift+F2 to logout...I just type in /quit (takes 2 miliseconds to close the whole game.)
Try that Ed next time and see if the same thing appears in the log.

Thank you. That behaves the same as shift-F2, just with five extra keystrokes.

It's the same slowness as shift-F2...well, except for me typing those five extra characters.
