Aside from those you've listed, the method I've always used:
never pass up killing a low level NPC. Sometimes you get 1 or 2 gold, but sometimes you get drops that are worth 25-30 gold, along with cards to use at the poker/blackjack tables. It doesn't take much time to kill them and it can be well worth it. |
