I hate when a name isnt approved... especially when you dont know why. No pun intended, but it kind of takes the wind out of your sails when you created a pirate with a name in mind. Now I have two level 13's who remain nameless and Im totally uninspired. LOL
Wondering if I should resubmit the same names and see what happens... |

My boyfriend has a Sir in his, and I have created 2 Lady's. And I have a basic account with my name and my boyfriends last name that was approved so idk. I saw someone at abassa with a very inappropriate name, so I have no idea why ticklish wouldnt be approved.

Actually I have a Pirate with a copyrighted name. It just isn't copyrighted to anything Disney would care about. In another life I used to read romance novels a lot, and James Malory was the English Lord/ Pirate in one of the series. But what are the odds Disney cares? The author, she'd most likely be amused by that. But whatever. James Malory is most decidedly copyrighted. Anna, the second of my pirates, she's entirely my own creation. Linked to James only for the ease of my friends being able to find both my pirates by an unusual last name. Or at least unusual spelling.
I have a better question though. If we can type names of pirates, why can't we do names of ships? Where's the sense in this? I can't give James his real ship, so I have 4 Black Dragons. If Disney noticed anything or ever read books, this is a copyrighted name as well. Though for a guy, not a boat. The Black Dragon was the leading villain in the fourth generation of Tom Swift books. Interesting, yes? Waiting for the day we get to name not just the pirate but the ship! |

Okay so my post got edited and makes no sense now.... let me try to make it a little more clear: There are several guild names with the titles of racist organizations in them.

I could never believe how inconsistent Disney is with their name guidelines.
When I played toontown, I had a toon for TWO WHOLE YEARS. And one day I came on and they had taken the name away and I was called "toon" Right away I resubmitted the exact same name and it was accepted 5 minutes later and good until I stopped playing. So someone initially accepted it. Two years later someone else decided that it wasn't good. 5 minutes later someone else decided that it was. The pirate I have right now was just named using pick-a-name but hopefully the process of naming any future pirates won't be so frustrating! I don't have much hope... =P |

Well my girl-friend plays POTCO with me some times, and we just made her a new pirate to play on.... We registered her pirate's name as " Molly McButter" this is a trademarked product you sprinkle on stuff in place of butter. I couldn't believe it passed lol, it is a pretty well known product. Im still attempting to get a pirate named after one of my favorite musicians, but as of yet it either denies it, or won't let me even type it in the request box. I have found that if you enter some things it wont allow it to be even typed, but if you enter some thing before it then add a space or delete a letter here or there then re-add it differently it will let it go in. I think though it hates the word "Unknown" .... in the sequence I am using. I have successfully made about the entire cast of the TV show King of The Hill though, and created pirates that looked like the show characters lol... I am gonna keep on seeing what I can get by with.
