New Depp/Disney Movies

For those who are Depp fans I recommend JohnnyDeppReads.com - it's an excellent source of news about upcoming Depp projects.

And...actually....there's been quite a bit of internet chatter about AIW.

That film is due to be released in March of 2010.

As for Tonto - that's quite a ways off yet. Currently Depp is filming "The Rum Diary" based on Hunter S. Thompson's book (think Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) in Puerto Rico. He has several other projects that he's commited to in addition to The Lone Ranger.

For instance, he's reprising his role as Captain Jack for the scheduled 2012 release of POTC 4.

His only promotion, to-date, for The Lone Ranger, was at a Disney event late last year where he appeared onstage at Disney's presentation for their long-term projects. He walked onstage in full Captain Jack costume but with a feather sticking straight up out of his hair and ivory/pearl handled pistols stuck in his belt. As of yet, no Lone Ranger has been cast.
