Ship Names?

Well having worked in adminstration of games (on a much smaller scale) I can tell you that name changing is a major pain. People would be changing their names hourly in some cases, it also puts a burden of responsibility on us. To sail right and true. There are those that would go on a voyage, have bad luck and want to change their ship name because it was bad luck, and be changing them every voyage! There would be griefers that would grief another bunch of pirates sailing around, go in change our name and come right back to grief them again. Everyone tends to think of the "Pro" sides, without considering the "Cons" for both the players, and the games administration. Plus pirates werent changing their ship names for the most part, not saying it never happened, but it didnt happen that often.

I guess from my perspective, im thinking Why SHOULD we be able to change our ship names when in reality its generally never done. Maritime records of old would be useless if captains changed their ship names over and over.

They are just adding ship names to the list, thats it, people need to realize this and get over it. Its like when they add small quests to the game, after us maxed pirates have already maxed out, and the quests are of little or no value. We complain about it wanting a new story quest, and notoriety cap raised, yet we get told by the newer pirates all the time that we are just whining.. well.. if the shoe fits!

Zep, does changing your ships' name after you buy it hold a cannon(candle) to switching one pirate from one account to another? I don't think they do this in pirates, but I think they used to with toontown.


Well, I don't think I'll be using the new ship names. All I'm saying is, if everyone wants to use the new names, then having an original ship name isn't going to happen.
