I agree with you completely Mac! I'd love to get more out of sailing! Make it a little more realistic and fun.. True I'd like to see a new Chapter first, but this is definitely something I'd be interested in later in the game

I just think the game could offer us much more. Here are some more of my ideas.
Characters: Look at the Video Insider: The making of, video here. Pause when you get to david talking about the characters. You can see that the characters he has on his computer look much more different than our characters in the game. Their faces have much more details, their ears, eyebrows, chin, etc... Why don't we have these good graphics in the game right now? My computer would be able to handle those graphics. I guess we'll have to wait about five years before the character details are as good as the video shows. Activities: Including PVP, etc... After playing need for speed undercover I thought, hey, if the cops and robbers can work in a car game why not in pirates? But instead of cops and robbers, I was thinking navy and Pirates or EITC and robbers. Imagine taking gold and then trying to drop it off in a certain location while enemies attack you with cannon balls. All you need is good aim. The reason why I thought cannon balls instead of the enemies doing one on one was because of our current PVP status. People can jump around you and avoid attacks easily. If we have a pirates trying to dodge navy cannon balls then it's going to be much more fair when the pirate is jumping around like crazy. We should also have an island strictly for PVP. In other games there are areas for just PVPing. Why not an island? There could be two forts, one for the pirates and one of the navy. You wouldn't be able to chose what side. When teleporting or docking at the island you would be put on a side according to how many people are on the pirates side and how many are on the navys. You could take each others fort, etc... PVP could be a lot better and I just think an island with a navy and pirate fort would be cool. More Ships and ship customization: If Disney or the POTCO devs look around POF at all then I think it's fair to ask them to add in at least three more ships classes to the game. We wouldn't be able to hold more ships but two more ships would be unlocked at level 20, and a third at level 25 when you master your sailing level. The ships you unlock at level 20 would be similar to the war galleon and war sloop, only they'd look different. They'd also be more powerful and a bit faster. They would only be classified as war ships because they're so powerful. The last ship to unlock would be similar to the Black Pearl, only it's wood would be a different color. It would be able to hold 18 cargo and would have double to HP of a war frigate. Of course with these ships we'd need to see higher level enemy ships. For ship customization we'd need different flags, masts, hulls, etc... We would be able to change our sails color, damage(like the black pearls), size, etc... We would be able to unlock black flags through quests. I mean if you could just go out and buy a skull and cross bones flag then that defeats the whole perpose. I'd like to earn a pirate flag instead of going out and buying it. We would also have different cannons, a captains cabin, below decks, and you would be able to go up to the top mast to look out for enemy ships. You would be able to see twice as far once up there. For below decks you would be able to buy more cannons and place them there. You could go down and fire from there, although your site wouldn't be as good as up above. In a captains cabin you could add in activities like dart, poker, black jack, etc... You would be able to decorate your desk and make it look filthy like the Pearls. You could set a glob on your desk and view it to see the direction your ship is going while your crew is controling the ship. You could look out the windows to see the ocean, too. Pirate items: Why is it that this is a pirate game but we still don't have eye patches, peg legs, a hook hand, or even a parrot on our shoulders? Add those in and a lot of people would be able to customize their pirate more. The catch is, you have to level up these pirates before buying these items. I can understand a level 30 pirate needing a peg leg but not a level five. They haven't fought enough enemies yet. I want to earn the damage.(not in real life, though.) Also, if we get attacked by a certain enemy we should be able to buy "scars" at the tatoo shop. Ok, that's it. Sorry if this post wasn't that organized. I just wanted to get my ideas out in the open. |

![]() Your right though, if you watch the videos you catch a lot of details and content that have yet been added to the game. Also saw the ship with lanterns: ![]() Perhaps hinting to ship customization eventually? Who knows at this point though. It could have been made simply as a show for the video :/ |

Davy Jones isn't new to me. I saw that video before I signed up for beta. That video has been on the site since at least 2007. Davy Jones is already finished but I think the Kraken is more important to them.
If you listen to one of the videos you can also hear one of the devs say that he plays the game when he should be doing other things. Now I know why we haven't been getting any more content.

If we are talking ships here, then there is one type of ship that is SO obviously missing from the game that I can't believe it.
All the ships we see are fighting ships. Where are the true CARGO ships? The Freighters? Let's be honest, during the 'golden' age of piracy, the pirates didn't attack the heavy miilitary ships, they went after the ones that had tons of cargo. (Loot and Plunder.) Also, most of the shipping of the time was just that, cargo ships. Disney needs to add a fleet of ships that are not armed, or only very lightly armed but are heavy in cargo. And a very few of those should be true Treasure Ships. A single ship with at least 6 royals on it. The ships would look similar to Galleons, but only a few light cannons, or none at all, and would be relatively slow moving. (Heavy with plunder.) Now, to work them into the game, they would not travel alone, they would be accompanied by an escort fleet. If you attacked one, the attack would trigger a counter attack by ALL of the surrounding Navy and EITC ships. The cargo ship WOULD NOT attack you, but would run away from you while the escort ships would be defending it and sinking you. The cargo ships would normally travel 'shipping lanes'. Predetermined routes from island to island. Not always straight line, either. Tortuga to Port Royal might be by going around Driftwood, for example. Or PDF to PR by going around KH. The other thing is that they would be totally random in when they show up. No schedule, and no respawning. You can't just sit somewhere and wait for them. Pure luck, the way it was with most real piracy. The ultimate would be the "Treasure Flag Ship". 10 or more Royals on it, but a twist from normal. It's a flagship, so you must board it, just like any other flag. The differences: The escort ships continue to fire on you all the way until you have landed a grapple. You may disable it, but not get to board beacuse you have sunk while trying to maneuver into grapple position. Once you have landed at least one grapple hook, the other ships will stop shooting. Then, after you have boarded, once you return to your ship, at least one of the enemy ships will begin to fire on you again. Not the instant you land on your own ship, but within 5 seconds of such. So, now you have to make your escape or go down and lose your booty. This becomes a true test of both the crew and the Captain.

Now that's an idea Basil!
I think it'd be cool to fight a fleet of enemy ships. Also, prehaps let us start our own fleets? Enemy ships will be drawn to us and the two fleet ships protecting us will help fight off the enemy ships. The gold will come from the captain. He/she will out the cargo on the ship and if you make it from one island to another, depending on how far you sail, your gold will either be doubled, trippled, etc... The more cargo you add into the ship the more enemies that will try to attack you. Just trying to add on to your idea. |

Adding some detail to my idea.
The cargo ships don't go by the standard ranking system of levels. They rank as only 4 different types. Type one is the lowest, and is escorted by guard fleets of Sentinels, Corvettes, Bulwarks, etc, other ships of that level. Type 2 is a little bigger, and is guarded by Marauders, Ironwalls, Centinels, etc. Type 3 is the biggest, and is guarded by Man-O-War, Warlord, etc. Type 4 is the Cargo Flagship, and has a mixed fleet of guard escort ships. Each type is appropriate for the level of attackers and the plunder is also. This way, someone with a regular frigate can still attack a cargo fleet, and get the appropriate loot. No sense having them attack a Cargo Flaghip that gives 12 Royals, when they can only carry 9 max. If you already have some cargo plunder when you attack the Cargo ship, any royals the cargo ship gives up automatically replace any lesser plunder you may already be carrying.
