Well mate, perhaps it's not in the rules, but it is on the Computer Stuff page.

Here be what it sez:

"A little info about chatting:

We have had a couple problems recently with communicating with some of our newer members. In order to help in this, I'm posting about POTCO chat and what ye need to check for to ensure ye can talok with yer mates anytime ye want.

First off, it does matter what setting ye have yer chat on. Ye can't change yer setting from child to adult in-game. Ye have to go to the Disney Site in order to adjst this. Disney has enough filters already--I would recommend that ye set it to adult and if ye have children playing, just be a parent and monitor the game and yer rugrat's progress in it.

1--Log into the Disney site.

2--Go to "Account Services."

3--Select, "Manage Account."

4--Select, "Parental Controls."

5--Click the radio buttons for Open Chat with Unlimited True Friends, and Open Chat with Any Disney Mamber.

6--Save yer changes.

Now, once ye've done that, log into POTCO as usual. Open a chat window (just hit the ENTER key) and look jujst to the right of the skull that's down there. Do ye see a PLUS SIGN? If so, click it. That guy is a langauge filter--once ye turn it off ye ought to have no more issues taling with yer Krewe mates!

Realize again that this means anybody playing POTCO can chat with ye now--or with yer kids. So be wary. Also, if anybody does get out of line, simply click on the toon, report them, and as soon as they are reported to Big D, your pirate will now automatically ignore them. No more issue, plus ye'll be helping the rest of us by policing up the trash!"
