Our guild, BURNING LEGION, as of tonight has 169 members!!! (I know I counted!!!). We also have Teamspeak and a webpage. If you want to join a fun loving and plundering crew stop a Burning Legion member and if they can't guild you they will call on an officer and one (if not 3 or 4) will come running. We help each other with quests and have a blast at the same time!!

this thread is a great idea but one question i have and i'll probably not get a truthful answer but the few guild who claim to have numbers in the hundereds how many actually play? i'll be honest my guild has at least 20 members but only 10 of which i see at elast once a week, many either quit playing this game or they may have other pirates they play and have joined other guilds but i'm having a hard time believe a guild in this game at such an early stage has even 100 active members..

Bad to the Bones (BTTB) is a quild comprised of around 43 members. We are not a large guild and we prefer it that way. Most of us play on a daily basis and, for the most part, are "seasoned" pirates. This means we are mostly adults. We do have a few of the offspring of our pirates and a few students playing as well. Our notariety averages in the mid 20's, with a few of us presently maxxed out at 40. The thing I like most about our quild is that most of us are friends, having played Beta 1, Beta 2, VMK, Toontown or other games together. We are all about helping each other. Just mention searching on Kingshead for grenades, and you will have 5-10 friends by your side. Often when we help people of another guild, even the ones who are so large, I wonder where their guildmates are. We are a pretty close-knit bunch of pirates who appreciate the help of others and never miss a chance to laugh. We tend to recruit pirates who are mindful of the fact that regardless of your goals on POTC, it is still just a game. We also request that our members have unlimited access. Being in BTTB makes the game much more fun for me! If you are interested in our guild, you can check us out by clicking here ----> Happy pirating!

I can think of about 25 members of our guild who are on almost everyday. Another 25 come on 2-3 times a week. Some just on weeks and some that have not been (when I am on) since I started with my guild. Some of the names in the guilds might be avatars that were deleted since those just don't automatically erase for some reason) but when anyone in our guild comes on (whether we have played with them or not) most of us will say AHOY to that person just so they know they are not alone. And if they have questions we answer them if we can or get to them either by tping to them or locating them by switching oceans to theres and running to them in order to help. We don't care if they are on our friends list we still help them. We also stop and help random pirates that are standing around asking a question.

I'd rather have quality then quanity. In the guild I'm in, we have around 6 members. It's new, but all of us are experienced...
I was in Emerald Sea Gang for a while, then a couple of people got really mean... ( Won't say who. ) One person got mad that someone in the guild ( my best friend ) didn't go to a Officer for a problem, and went to the Guildmaster. She got really mad, then kicked her off. There was one other guy that was a idiot... and a jerk. He was the worse that made me leave and join my friend's guild. So my experiences with that guild was terrible... and no one even helped me with anything.

I agree, quality is always better than quantity. I think the bigger ones would get kinda confusing and too clique-ish. But some people like the big huge guilds, while others like the smaller ones. I just personally don't see the advantage of the big guilds. I'm in a small/med size guild, and there's more than enough people around to play pirates with

I Disagree
Burning Legion is a large guild. We do have alot of active members and so far we have had no major problems with anyone. That whole quality over quantity thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me being that it is VERY to get rid of members who make things unpleasent for the rest of the guild. It is so nice to have a full ship of just guildmates everytime i log in. It is a huge advantage to all of us in Burning Legion as there is ALWAYS someone on to help out. Never any searching for help in Tortuga for us!! You can have your small guilds ... BURNING LEGION sails DEEP!!

I think it's better to have not very many members, so everybody in the guild can be friended, so you can teleport to instead of having to sail to them. It's also a WHOLE lot easier to go around with 3-5 experienced players then 30 newbies. So you'll soon find that quality over quanity makes sence. ( Everybody in the guild is done with the BP quest except for a couple, so we can go around and conquer anything... )

Selfish
Sounds a little selfish to me. We don't mind "noobs". We were all once noobs and needed help.

I agree with Dread!!
Our noobs don't stay noobs very long. They ask questions, we answer, they learn...after awhile they know as much as we do and can help others also.
You were new to Pirates once, did you learn EVERYTHING on your own. Probably not. Someone probably helped you out along the way. That is what a guild is about. We talk to everyone. Sure some of us do more things together than others...but the opportunity is there for ALL. Whats so hard about saying "go to Port royal or Tortuga on the Anibassa ocean and meet at the shiprught"? Someone will be able to get to the person and friend or crew them and off a plundering or questin we will go. If they don't know how to switch oceans then we walk them through it. It takes what maybe 2 minutes to do that and we have made some great friends that way. BURNING LEGION all the way baby!!

Actually, I did everything on my own. Nobody helped except for a couple on the Grenade Quest and Bowdash's last chest on Isla Tormenta. Everybody always say's that... " you were once new to Pirate's/Toontown/VMK " but people need to learn stuff to do on their own... I get tired of people who always ask for something. The first few times, it's fine. But then constantly they ask more and more. And a couple of people always teleport to me when I'm on my ship, and they don't even ask. Maybe I like the crew size right now, and I don't want too many. Then some noob's in a few recent guilds have ALWAYS taken helm, which gets REALLY annoying. I tell them not too, and they go ahead and do it. So I'm tired of large guilds. Just too many noobs who can't listen when you tell them the first, second, or third time.

Guess what, its not just noobs that do that. I have had high levels take the helm and try to sail away or start to shoot down other ships while we were waiting for the Cuda to respawn. If they do it once we tell them not to and if they keep going on and doing it we dock, kick them off the guild/crew/friends lists and go back out.
I myself have things I have to ask more than once because my brain does not always register every thing the first time. I have a very analytical mind and need things in black and white. I can replace a video card/ram/dvd burrner/whatever with out thinking twice about it but try to explain a new concept in the game to me and forget it (just ask Bella or~figment~ as she is known here on POF about me and the take aim skill) it doesn't sink in right away. I am an adult and a Lvl 23 in the game and feel that I am a VERY good player but some things just throw a person off. You can not judge a player by there actions a time or two. Over and over...yes. Once or twice may be all it takes for a good player to become a great player. But taking over the helm and the constant teleporting..no that is not cool.
