Juggernaut Hunting
Okay, so I think I've seen more than my share of Juggernauts. In just 2 weeks I've seen, and sank 6 of them. I think I know where it hangs out. First I ran into it off Avaricia on my way to Kinghead. It respawned there and I sank the sucker again. (It was a 44 the first time and I sank it solo in my regular gallon without a scratch. No joke.) The other day I ran into it off KH again. Last night I found it off Outcast. Today I found it in Dead Man's Trough. It was a 45 this time.
Now people seem to not believe me when I say I brought down a 44 in a regular gallon cause at the time my sailing was like 13. I did do it. Today, I present the Juggernaut hunt. Yes, I went looking for it in my same gallon even though now I have a war galleon. I took the Black Dragon Tagged it with the very first shot Stripped the sails Pounded on it for a few minutes And sent 'em to Davy Jones! It never got a single shot off. And I learned something. It seems to spawn off KH and Avaricia. Then it heads all the way around the edge of the world I think. As far as I can tell there is only 1 per server, but I might be wrong. I think though that it's like the Colossus Flagship. Anyway, for anyone who wants to try it, and test my theory, go for it. The Juggernauts give almost exclusive royals to me anyway. Happy hunting!!! |

well me and my guild were out doing a gold run went to sink the juggernaut of outcast and it gave us a crate of wheat then i was alone sailing to kingshead on my other pirate and saw a juggernaut again sunk it and it gave me a crate of grog so the exclusive royals must be very uncommon |

Congratulations, the Jugg can be a challenge as one gets the handle on their sailing.
Also note that although you were only level 13 sailing, your level 21 cannons which did most of the work disabling the Jugg. ![]() Im really curious as to why the Juggernaut is thought to be so rare, or that difficult. I see it all the time and often have to avoid it in attacking other ships, and have often had to sink it just to make it safe to battle the other ships around it. Did it with a light sloop once to prove it could be done. It has alot of firepower, avoid it, and its just another piece of driftwood in a big pond. I guess its just my... been playing the game for a year and a half savvy. hehe Also as far as the plunder, you cant count on it. I've received that 1 crate from the Juggernauts, Colossus's, Behemoth's, etc. And i've gotten royals off of Bulwarks. Its all random, the higher levels are of course programmed to usually give the higher valued rewards though. Treasuresense skill has alot to do with this as well. |

Perhaps I should clarify. As of today both my sailing and cannon are 21. It was the first time that it was lower. With cannon the only thing I ever do is strip the sails. Then I broadside the monsters till they sink. As for the royals, perhaps the 5 points in treasure sense is the reason for this.

well i can honestly say treasure scene maxed helps none what so ever
i was sailing with a guy who had it and out of every ship we sank 3: dreadnoughts 2 colossus 1 warlord 1 behemoth 1 man-o-war 2 corsairs 2 predators and from each one of them we got a crate of wheat ended up with 60 gold from a war frigate cause each ship only gave out a crate |

I have gotten royal chests from those annoying light sloops. Treasure Sense is at max. It helps a lot.

I used to have treasure sense back when I needed money. Lately I just rebuilt my skills and put it all in sailing faster and turning quicker
.Anyway sweet! I remember when there used to be one Juggernaut out behind padres and when Warlords were all the rage. |

I didn't really consider the Juggernauts rare. It's like any of the bigger ships, just need to know where to look for them. I do miss the massive amount of additional ones that we had prior to the island makeovers.

![]() Juggers weren't always rare... in fact when they had they EITC blockade around PDF during the island makeovers - there were several. Its like they move them around, bring'em back, lose'em again. THEY ARE TOYING with us!!

Before the updates, I was able to find a few Juggernaut around various places. If you ask me, the Juggernaut is way overrated and its the Behemoth that's to be concerned about. Although I will admit, you are incredibly lucky to find one of those beasts, I got no luck at all!

Hehe, I'm not worried about any of the big ships. I've sank every big ship there is, with shocking regularity. It's how I got to sailing 15, by taking on the monsters in my Black Dragon Gallon. Behemoths aren't any big deal to me. I don't care for the Dreads, the little stinkers sometimes turn on you even after you strip the sails. And I abhor the skellies. It takes too many shots to strip their stronger masts and being frigate class the little pains nearly always turn on me. I'd rather take down the Behemoths and Colossus any day of the week than do the big skellies.

![]() Before they changed the various shipping lanes, etc. The hinterseas, used to be full of phantoms. They were my favorite to level cannons on, because I could park and lure in phantom after phantom and at least until i hit the upper teens of cannon levels could get my 100 pts each. They always turn to their left I position my ship heading to my right, so I can sail the direction they turn. They start to turn, I run to helm, and finish them off

It occurs to me that I didn't tell you guys how I sail. The day I became a DW I went sailing with Jess... I'd never seen anything like it! The very next day I set out to teach myself how it was done. I get my ship absolutely no closer than the very edge of my compass. (When sailing alone. With a crew it's different, but I'm referring to alone.) When my target is at the very edge of my compass I tag it with Thunderbolt. The instant it's turned I hammer on it's sails till they are fully stripped. The skellies reinforced masts make this harder. Yet I do manage. With the sails fully stripped I go back to the wheel, turn my ship to a perfect T with my target, and broadside it to Davy Jones. Even with skellies I have to move in close to broadside range. It's not the distance Zep, it's the ship. I've had other DW's tell me the same thing, skellies are just prone to turning even if you do fully strip the sails before they turn. I find almost every time this happens, it's a Death Omen ship. Sometimes, only sometimes, other skellies do it. So I try to avoid Death Omens. It occurs to me that you and I have never sailed together. I'm putting this out now, come watch me in action and you'll see what I mean. My ships are always open to friends, guild, and crew. Just come see Kat O'hara. I don't say this as a matter of bragging but a statement of fact. I am absolutly one of the best sailors I've seen. Once I learned my technique, I made it a high art. With the exceptions of spawning, I have been known to sink a full hold worth of ships with not one scratch on me. In case you wonder where I sail I always ply the waters between PDF, and Kingshead. Sailing alone I hunt 35+ exclusively. Sailing with crew 30+. My prime targets are Behemoths, Colossus, and Dreadnaughts. If I can see them Juggernauts. Nothing else is worth my time. Why bother with a Warlord? I can sink them too easy. I want a challenge. I'm waiting patiently for D to put out level 50 monster big ships. Great big huge suckers like the guy in the BB. I'll tear that to shreds too. Please note, yes, I really am that good. There are guildmates I sail with regularly who will confirm this if you think I'm just exaggerating. I am a monster sinker. It's my specialty. Why else would I be a 30 with just 2 1/2 levels to mastering both cannon and sail but my other weapons aren't but inching 15? (Secpt grenades, them things are fun!) I dunno how this turned into a can I do it, but I hope by reading my technique, those of you who have never seen it done try it. I hope you too get out there monster ship hunting. Till then I'll be out in the Hinterseas, sinking the monsters...
