Depends, I only trust Captain Ammand and Uncle Durman on sword fighting tactics.
But, if it was a low Sweep followed by a Slash then Parry, followed by a Kick that would destabilize my opponent, I would accept.
What would you do if POTCO had a hand to hand combat system? (I would still fight with my cutlass, I don't like to punch, hurts the knuckles.)
(I remember one time I got in a fight that lasted 4 seconds, which contained me throwing a punch and getting my fingers hurt badly, missed the guy and he was standing behind a concrete wall.
