When I had the ham tonics last (didnt bother this year). I was able to hit th "I" key, and then click on the tonic I wanted to use. This doesnt tie into the "T" key for the fast tonic, but you should be able to use tonic of choice by going to your "I" inventory screen. This wont help with the revive, but if you want to save the ham tonics in those non-emergency healing moments... try "I".
