I have to say I dont like the boost to enemy ship defenses. Ships are at just the right amount of defense compared to fun factor at the moment, this change will make it less fun IMO. 25 percent is a huge buff to the enemy.

It remains to be seen if this hull buff counters that, but it will certainly be a much larger time sink.

I wonder how long it will take now for someone sailing solo to down a hard ship. I hope its not like downing a mob on shore, some of those fights are rediculously long...

Was taken on the big ships around PDF last night on my war frigate, lvl 18 sailing and lvl 23 cannon. Yes, it does take a little more to put them down, depending upon which ammo you are using. But wasn't that bad.
At times, before this upgrade, it was too easy to take the big boys down. And for lower lvl pirate ships and cannons, yes it will be harder for them. But it should be.
