Lets slow down and look at the Weapon Belt picture again.
It looks like only F1, F2, F3 and F4 are selectable. A pirate won't be limited to only 4 weapons - you will only be able to Load those first four "F Slots". I take that to mean that a pirate will always carry Grenades and Staff (sorry about the Nades Sarah). I expect the "ITEM" slot for the Sail Bonus to function as a Passive skill - I don't have an "ITEM" key on my keyboard so I don't see any other way for that Slot to work. The Big question for the people on Test to figure out is this: How does loading a weapon from a Drop affect the current distribution of Skill Points for that F Key? I'd think changing one Cutlass type for another Cutlass type wouldn't really change things. But, what happens if one would keep their current Cutlass, Pistol and Doll in F1 F2 F3 and then Load a Drop Cutlass in F4? Or, is each F Key only loadable with a weapon from that original Weapon Type? A new Attack such as the Rolling Attack seems easy enough to figure out; we get a new circle on the bottom of the screen and a new Number key to associate with that attack. Like many others, I have NEVER got a Clothing Drop so the frequency of the Drops will be interesting. We will just have to run around and defeat all the Enemy types and see if there is any commonality to the Enemy/Location where the drop comes from. |

I know we are entitled to our own opinions but knocking the game update when we havent even seen it yet kinda grates. Nobody has a clue as to how this is really going to pan out so can't we all just withhold our judgement untill we have experienced it first hand. I feel some of us may end up with egg on their face.
And also........... 1. If you dislike the game so much........ DON'T play it anymore. 2. If you feel you have to always right bad things about the updates.... DON'T play it anymore. 3. If you can't say even a little positive thing about the game.... DON'T play it anymore. 4. If you feel it is too expensive for what you get in return........ DON'T play it anymore. There are plenty of us out there who can't wait for the update and will embrace every part of it. I am one of those people. Who cares what gets dropped and when. When it does it will be exciting and new and I know everyone will be wanting El Patrons super sword that turns you into a ghost!! If thats a super rare drop then so be it. What does it matter you can only carry 4 things. It is a weapons BELT. I'm sure real pirates never went to battle with 6 different weapons and a barrel load of grenades stuffed up their trouser leg. (I know they were well armed btw so no need to pick up on that last quote ). And time for changing weapons?? Well there is 30 minutes warning for invasions. I'm sure it that time you can decide what you are going to take with you to confront Jolly and his minions.I just can't wait now!!

I just feel bad for those paying, and thinking this is a big update, when in MOST MMO's that you pay for, a good inventory system, and creative drops are old hat, expected, and there when the game is beta. Disney is charging too much for too little - THATS the issue. |

Ok, lot to cover here, bear with me.

I believe you hit the nail on the head there Kid. However, the news says new cutlasses, Staves (their word not mine.), pistols and daggers. It does not say dolls. So I'm thinking the weapons we pick from will be just those 4. Which certainly mixes things up rather a lot. (And yet looking back it does have pictures of multiple dolls but no staff, so maybe you are right.) Quote:
Now the clothing, jewelry and ink. It says 42 clothing items, not 24 outfits. (Sorry Bas.) It remains to be seen if like now quest items will not count. If they do I'll be ticked then. If they do then there actually isn't clothing expansion at all. We'll see. No, real pirates would have considered packing 42 clothing items ridiculous. 40 jewelry, probable. Hey, pirate! What good is all this plundering jewels if I can't wear em? At least that would be my guess on pirate philosophy. Then there's this. It says you can hold 42 potions. Not tonics, potions. Might there be now potions set aside for reviving? Possibly something we can use to negatively effect enemies? How cool would that be! (Just a hopeful guess, but it would be sweet.) Another thought, check out the screenie. It has a picture for the cards. Cards have never had a section in the inventory so far as I know. Could this mean that now we'll get to see what cards we have rather than having to sit down at a table and cheat to figure it out? On the gold cap raise. It means nothing to me, she of the 32 (usually broke) pirates. However, I do think there is a reason for the cap raise. I don't think they just did it. I think if not with this update, then there will be something added soon to spend that gold on. Otherwise why bother? Quote:
Anyway, that's just some thoughts for the morning. |

run it down
Seems like a lot of the criticism I'm seeing here is based on FALSE assumptions. So, let's break it down.
They indicate that you be able to carry up to 35 weapons - AT ONE TIME. 30 of those will be stored in the Sea Chest, with 5 active (4 weapons and one Sailing/Cannon boost). AT ANY TIME, it shows you can bring up your weapons and use a drag/drop feature to swap them out. **This is important, because it means you don't have to go a merchant or some captain's quarters in order to make the change** It also appears that on occasion you will find a dropped weapon. Since they make a BIG point about this, likely you will find them more often than people here think. If your weapons have an empty slot, the dropped weapon appears to be added. IF YOU LOOK at the picture, it shows some weapons in the grid are repeated (the two witch voodoo dolls are the most obvious). So, if you recover a duplicate item or something you don't want - the game will offer a way to sell it (either to a merchant or perhaps even another player). Also, NOTE at the bottom is a trash can icon. Is this to sell off or just throw away an unwanted weapon? As for clothes, it does appear that it will be a total of 42 objects combined - this as opposed to the current 28 slots (7 of which are defaults). But, by combining them into a big pile - it appears you will be able to have a lot of one kind of attire if you want (10 shirts, a couple of vests, etc.) There is a separate tab for cards. So, it looks like you will be able to tell ahead of time what's up your sleeve before getting into a game. Good to know. There is a Tonics tab. which makes sense. Tonics never belonged in the Skills tab. The jewelry tab appears to be shared with tattoos so the 40 slots will be combined. That will actually be a LOSS of slots (Originally 32 jewelry and 16 tats = 48). I guess that could be a topic of complaint. So, what is the Cannonball Barrel tab for? Anyone care to speculate? The pic also shows a six-digit gold cap. So, they must expect us to be spending that or have something we will need that much for. Moving on, they called the Cutlass picture a Card. So, likely this is showing the details of a weapon including the Attack bonus it gives. This might also imply that some may actually have a Defense bonus. No comment on the rolling attack and other special moves since like everything else - it would be theory. |
