I would send a report, it is more than likely a problem, as even they wouldn't be that biased as to giving out rewards.

edit: I received a response to an email I sent, and although the first paragraph, and majority of the second has nothing to do with my email, this is what I got in regards to the new body types:

We apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced while playing on the Test Server. The purpose of the Test environment is to ensure that any bugs or issues are appropriately taken care of so that we can introduce the exciting, new features into the Live game environment. Sometimes unforeseen events force a release that may take progress away from your Pirate.

However, we assure you that these new body types are only going to effect newly created pirates. Currently there is no big difference between these avatars and the ones available on the live servers. If you do not believe me you are welcome to load both versions of the game side by side to see for your self. We apologize if your original body type pirate has be changed to the new body style on Test. We understand that this may be very frustrating, but again assure you that these changes will not effect pirates already created on the Live Servers when the new system is introduced to all our guests.
