These are the sites that I have tried (unsuccessfully).

1. Behind Fabiola
2. By Alligators
3. By Pig
4. Behind the Faithful Bride
5. Behind Butcher Brown on the Hill
6. Left of the Sheep Pen
7. In front of Hendry Cutts

I have probably tried each one, at least 15-20 times.

Does anyone know of anyother dig sites on Tortuga. I even looked in some of the caves on Tortuga.

So sorry you're having this problem, Eliza. I went through similar frustrations when trying to dig up the severed arm in the chest on Isla Cangrejos. On server after server, the chest would either be empty -- or already dug up and impossible to open.

I hope you have sent in a bug report, along with a logfile. DON'T leave it at the Live Chat stage. (I know they mean well, but I have found them less than helpful.) Once you get an issue # by return email, send an additional email referencing it right away with the request that the problem be "escalated to the engineering team". Don't wait for days to pass before following up on the report. (Remember: The squeaky wheel gets the oil.) Calling live support on the phone can also get you some added attention.

FYI, every major bug I've encountered -- such as the Cangrejos chest issue -- has usually been resolved within a couple days of sending in a bug report.

Good luck!

I have sent the email and gotten an issue number. I then returned the email requesting it be escalated to engineering team. Will I get an email letting me know something has been done?

I don't think it's bugged, unless it's bugged with your pirate only? Last night a guild matey found the artifact on the hill by Fabiola. And that's where I always find the artifact also.

Sometimes you'll get another "form letter" email, but nothing specific. I think you'll know when something has been done when you are able to dig up the artifact.

Good luck!

I found mine near Fabiola, but like people said, it's pretty random atm lol.

Woo Hoo I am a happy pirate. Success at last.

I received the quest to obtain the Cuba Transportation Totem a couple of days ago but held off in case this bug would affect obtaining that totem as well.

Since I had not heard anything from the bug report I submitted (other then the original acknowledgment of submission) I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I followed the track to Tia Dalma for the Cuba Quest and was told I needed to first return to Tortuga to obtain my Tortuga artifact before I could begin that quest. I did and received it on the first try.

I do still very much feel that it is a bug because I went back to Tia Dalma several times with no success. It was not until I tried to start the Cuba Quest that the game set things right. Also, one of the pirates I helped complete the Tortuga Quest is now unable to obtain the totem for the Cuba Quest.

Thanks so much for you help everyone. Hope this post helps others.
