Well being in a crew helps. If you have 6 people in that crew and a skull drops, then there are 6 chances for a Relic to be found, as compared to one if you are alone. Granted those other five chances will not benefit you, but Relics do drop more often when you are in a large crew simply because of that.

I have 2 lost swords of el patron, the best place to get them ( in my opinion ) is the gold room on isla tormenta, i think i was using a staff... the tribal chief staff to be correct, i never got a screen though,
![]() Well, It sure was easy for me to get the lost sword from the gold room, I used a staff, and I also got a gold charm, G'luck with the searchin mates! Last edited by ex8404; 08-26-2010 at 07:14 PM.. Reason: Merged |

I am not judging Roger. I am questioning how did you came up with this conclusion. If it works for you it works for you. I am asking if in order to prove this method did you do the same with all the different variations. How did you came up with those probabilities? How do you know that the bigger the crew the bigger the chances?

Think about this:
If you recorded EVERY drop, (Including varying gold amounts or dagger throws) you would say, "Okay, my chance with this monster is one in a ..." If someone ACTUALLY did this, we would be able to calculate which monsters would have best luck to get this sword. This is a stupid reply, I understand that, but what if someone set out on a quest to do this? |

Not really as "stupid" as you think, Pirate Mikeyy. It would just be an amazingly complex and time-consuming study. There are SO many variables that go into each and every "kill" that it would take an entire university research team to do the work.
Think about it... Your level versus the monster's level. Is the enemy human, un-dead, or animal? Time of day both in-game and real world. Location, number of people in party, their individual statistics, the weapons being used, the weapon statistics, the type of weapon and whether they were purchased, earned or found. Might even want to look at quests started and finished, clothing, how long the battle lasts, or even the kind of boats the pirate has. Does wearing a hat matter? Or is it the server? Or the tattoos the pirate wears or the jewelry. Male or female? Does a pirate stand a better chance if he or she has all their treasures or none of them? Am I missing anything? I guess that what I am saying is that the rare drops are either totally random or based on a specific set of occurrences. Either way, you won't be able to figure it out and it certainly won't be as silly as "Sleep next to Darkhart for 24 hours, wake up, attack him and kill him in exactly 37.8 seconds using only a spork found in a north trash bin from a Taco Pirate restaurant while humming Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum." The thrill should be in the hunt.

You know..... I've heard that if you glare at Darkhart by the light of the Muertos Moon for five minutes, then stand on your head and sing It's A Small World while engaging in battle with your toes you can get the sword in just one try. :P
LOL, it's not about fair. Random is random. It happens or it doesn't. I know guys with 2 and 3 swords. Personally I have 18 pirates and no sword. Really, it's not that big a deal. Sorry, but with all the new cursed blades it just seems to me there are far better weapons than a rusty El Patron. Just a thought.

heres my theory to it
1 disney resets servers at random when there looted most servers have 5 famed and 1 legendary and several rare/coomon weapeaons im not sure about full servers the chances might be boosted but i have looted quite servers on end that im am sure have reset you can tell by lag and lot of loot drops and i have NEVER and i mean NEVER got more then 2 famed in 1 server in a whole day of playing so i recommend after getting a famed switch to another server with friends the amount of ppl at the enemy also help your chances like someone said in a earlier post 5 or 6 ppl with you can greatly boost the chances of a skull at a boss also the KPM ( kills per minute ) also matter the faster u kill the more loot drops the better the chance of getting a famed after the server gets looted it will dtop famed/legend Hope this helped

I do believe there is a method to the famed and legendary weapons. It's a pattern. You just got to figure it out. A few thoughts: The less powerful weapon you use against a boss, might intitiate a bigger drop. If you are a basic member, that might initiate a bigger drop because Disney wants you sign up for a paid membership. A big crew against a boss might initiate a bigger drop. I have also noticed before fighting a boss, make sure your ammo is filled..gun ammo, cannon ammo, dagger etc.. Alot of the first drops are always ammo for whatever weapon your low on..
Nothing is random..it's a computer. You just gotta figure it out.

I have a new twist to all your theories (except the one right above this one) :
Basic memebers have a higher chance of finding famed weapons! I have proved this! I have an unlimited and a basic account. My unlimited person is lv 38: 2 famed, 1 of them cursed Doom Stinger. My basic person is lv 34, never got to do the El Patron Quest bc it wasnt out the last time I had unlimited on him: TWENTY-FOUR FAMED (36 if u count trashed) NONE of them are cursed. P.S. Downside for basics: Lower chance of finding legendary. |

Y'know, I've always had the best luck when I'm not looking for a famed.
I find that if I purely go to Darkhart to work on say, grenades with no thoughts of a famed, I usually get one after about a half hour to an hour. I've looted famed out of skulls, chests, and pouches, so don't be thinking "oh, it's a pouch, it's gold and a crummy weapon, I'm not even going to bother." I've looted famed off of Darkhart, some enemies in Tormenta (I think they were Brinescums...) and the four raiders right in front of Bonerattler(?) in the Catacombs. I think I've even looted a few fairly nice rare ones off of Gravediggers in the PR graveyard... but anyways. My point is, try not looking for them. Have fun playing and don't play purely for the weapons, work staff or something, and who knows? You might someday be the owner of El Patron's and 20 famed weapons. |
