I say that if you don't have enough people in your crew to fully fit a Frigate, then take a Galleon. The broadsides take cover for the missing crew members.

i bet u always never sail fully crewed
for one i highly doubt u have had 11 other people on ur ship at once and if so why its way overkill no ship on the game needs that many cannons 1 good cannon man is gond enough to take out any ship on the game let alone having 11 crew members would cause mega lag and freezing for all ur cannon men

*Shivers* Ugh, my Galleon... it was pretty much the worst ship I got. First, I saw many OTHER Galleons around. 2nd, it sunk to easily, since the front is sticking out SO much! It may have a lot of HP, but it doesn't matter. Your Galleon WILL sink very easily once you get one! 3rd, no front cannons!
I like the Frigate much better than the old Galleon, and soon, I'll get a War Sloop. If you get a Galleon, you'll be in for a scare. (And a waste of booty!)

Sail them right and they won't sink. You can go out run after run for full cargo.

Well, the Galleon will sink if you go against a skeleton ship, with no crew. If a thunder bolt hits the front... BOOM!

Stay well in front of the skeleton ship and broadside it while zig zagging. It will follow you but not shoot at you unless it gets close. Keep the enemy toward the edge of your compass.

I've gotten fairly good at taking down Revenants while sailing solo in my regular Galleon, sustaining little or no damage. Either hit them from in front or behind and keep maneuvering so they don't get broadside to you. (I actually find Revs easier to sink than Phantoms, which, though they are a lower level, seem to turn faster and fire more frequently.) |

I really dislike the galleon when i am on cannon crew. The sails and the raised front and rear of the ship block the view alot. I prefer the sloop for its openess or the frigate for being open and having great bow cannons.
