Looking for a dominating defensive position? Work with other Privateers flying the same flag to form a Line of Battle. This is a formation in which ships form a line from end to end and shower the opposing side with volleys of broadsides. It's an excellent way to defend your home port - and ensure you are not raining iron down on your own men.
That works. It has been done. Its a blockade. |

![]() Using combined broadsides is actually very powerful. I remember one day when a few of my mates and I split up in to seperate teams for a small game of SvS, my side launched about 4-5 War Ships, and swarmed the enemy ship. Didn't stand a chance ;D Although, personally, I like just launching up a VS War Sloop (or War Frigate, depending on the overall size of our crew,) filling up the cannons with our best gunners, and desolating anything that comes across our path. But an occasional armada never hurt anybody ![]() And I have to admit, light sloops annoy the hell outta me. But, like TSC, Ramming Speed works wonders on the buggers. |
