The check hand emote looks like it's because you have a black spot on your hand, it says "Your hand doesn't look like it contains an Evil Curse of Doom." It must because to have the cursed blades, you need to be cursed?

black spot eh? wouldn't that tie this quest very quickly into the Second Story Chapter? (insert Davy Jones and The Kraken here)
