Thank you Disney!

I've had numerous instances where I've forced myself to stop something from happening.

A specific time I remember quite well - I had just logged on, and was running down the Tortuga beach when I heard somebody ask another player "Hey, can I have your number?", or something along those lines. The other pirate (most likely younger, because he was a low level basic and had a hard time spelling) said "sure ok." Before I ran off in to town to go stock up on my potions, I immediately got involved, and told the bugger to back off.

After the guy left, I apologized to the kid for having to reprimand him for almost giving away PI - yet I was shocked beyond the fact to find out that the poor mate didn't know who the guy who approached him was.

Regardless, anything can happen on the internet. If anything, this game would be a MAJOR target for predators, considering the fact that there is such a large population of youth.

There are countless people that say "Oh, that can't happen to me!"..... Don't you think those that it happened to were thinking the same thing?

We should all be grateful our game is run by such a company that routinely reminds us to keep ourselves, our mates, and everybody else safe.

Another post thats spot on Del! I've also seen this occur in Potco as well as having young players approach me telling me of similar instances and asking for instructions on how to report such behavior. I've also witnessed attempts to phish account info from players in game attempting to get player login details. This is an area where I'm glad that Disney keeps a watchful eye in protecting the younger players.

I've been a game moderater on a non Disney game site and I think I can say that this sort of thing happens in all online games. Predators, Phishers, Scammers, etc...
Our game chat on that other site was not filtered as it is on Potco and I've seen young players post their phone numbers and home addresses as well as their emails in public chat. I've also busted a few predators on that other game. In these online games you never know who is on the other end of that avatar, could be a 6 year old or an 80 year old and they may not be a very nice person.

Not only is it the duty of the Mods in game but also the duty of us adult players to try to keep the kids safe. and report inappropriate behavior.
