But does that seem like Panda3D at work? Spore has an advanced engine that I've read about in a gadget newsletter. Apparently, the engine was so cutting edge at the time that other gaming companies were shocked and realized they had to catch up. Now, the POTCO Devs aren't trying to keep up. They're like that fat guy you see in the almost very last of the NYC Marathon, they don't need to be up front, they don't want to, and they wouldn't know what to do up there.

I didn't know I could make such good analogies...
