Mates before you say its able to be avoided and to be difficult. Please send me a link to your mmo and if it has as many players as this then go right ahead and say that it could be avoided. I'm sure its very hard to keep a successful mmo running and takes alot of time and effort you should be supportive rather than bash them down...

There's hundreds of lines of program just for Blackjack tables. Now think of all the rest of the stuff they have to do: keep track of loot drops, chat, clothing, potions, notoriety, quests, weapons, fishing, treasure... all of this and more for each and every pirate. And I'm guessing there's at least 200,000 pirates. It's the equivalent of probably 2 million lines of coding, because you have to keep track of a certain thing at the exact same time as 20 other things. Disney works hard, and if a line or 2 of bad coding slips in somewhere, they have to go through most of that coding until they find it, fix the error, see if the game is working properly, if it messed something else up, they have to take it back down, find that error, and make sure the game is running then.
I know most of you play games with less bugs than this, but Disney is doing their best to make this a fun game for us all. |

Yea i know from experience in school, it takes forever to get a code to do what you want and then if it is huge like one of these it will take longer to fix, unless they have something like what we used to tell them where they messed up and even with that it still doesnt all ways help, the code where it is messed up can be anywhere... But by the looks of it they are determined to fix it!

Aye, but we are the people paying hard earned money for a product they have offered. We the consumers, reserve the right to critique. And we also have the right to be upset if what we are paying for is not functional. And my point was to the fact that the reason Blizzard is so successful is that they allocate a proper portion of the game players investments to make sure that they do not have problems such as this.

FWIW, I've defended the programmers at Disney quite a bit. I understand how frustrating it is to work with code. In fact I am a few weeks away from taking my certification test in C++. I hope they can put the kybosh on the nasty bug pretty soon. Nobody wants to see a full-scale mutiny. |

Same Point
Well, Leo you are agreeing with me then, that was pretty much my point. But, hopefully Disney decides that its game revenue from pirates could become even greater if they put more of the resources forth to ensure better experiences for its customers.

They should.....
![]() ![]() From the WOW vids, many POTCO things are based on WOW stuff (since wow was released first), but jsut not as epic. I really want WOW designers to give POTCO a hand to make it better. You guys are lucky.. I want to play wow too... But it's so expensive...
