I am somewhat happy I didn't loot last week and didn't lose any major weapons (would have been very angry if I had gotten a famed or legendary and lost that).
I worked on my uber pirate all last week though and lost: -Last two levels of sword -20 levels in fishing -18 levels in potions -6 notoriety levels -Teleport access to all islands but raven's The potions bit is the one that angers me the most, but oh well. Guess the one week addition to my sub is enough compensation. I concur that it was very responsible and very relieving for them to post this. |

I'm not real sure why everyone is so quick to commend them for refunding the lost time; do you tell a restaurant manager what a great job he's doing for refunding your money after a particularly awful experience? No, you commend him when after comp'ing your meal he then gives you an amazing bottle of wine, a certificate for a future meal, and perhaps two slices of strawberry torte.
I reactivated my pirates account on Monday and discovered fishing, then leveled up ten levels. I also got a pirate level or two, and worked on sailing. I did some incredibly boring quests. Sure, I didn't lose as much as a previous poster, but I do know I don't feel the same desire to play that same content over again as I did. I do not feel it would be at all out of line to offer a double or triple XP event for a week; it seems like wasting nearly a whole week of everyone's time warrants something a little more than "my bad and here's 7 days of credit." |
