I know how you feel Rogerz. I played the games Civilization and Age of Empires when I was (Private) and they helped get me interested in history, and now I am an extreme history buff. So even if a game itself is not edcational it could lead to an interest in a subject thats in the game!

I was the opposite... I played Sid Meier's games because I liked history.

The game Is somewhat educational all the sword attacks are real .Except for voodoo most weapons are real. The ship types are real. So some things are real, but just a few.

When my daughter was about very young she wanted to try some online games. I started her out on POTC. Her reading level exploded it seems. She goes to a private school which is very strict and she test out at 2.5 years ahead of her grade level. She started POTC about three years or so ago. She can also type at about 30 wpm.

The only way I think it might be able to help you educationally, not including what Del said, could possibly be spelling and some history.

This isn't really educational, but I would imagine playing POTCO would increase typing speed, spelling, and ease of use with a computer. I suppose it could also develop a few social skills from chat and whatnot, plus some interesting stories, but that's about it.

![]() It is a bit, I use computer a lot and i am a couple grades ahead of my grade. It is a bit, like you have to be able to type words that don't show up in red. It also sorta involves math, if you need 5000 more gold for a ship. And, once again, the reading. -Hector/Capin Otter/Trust |
