What to do with the Dagger?

Since I was new to this game when I had my cutlass, I kinda of messed up my skill built for that. So when I got my dagger I made it my main offensive weapon,

I have

1 point on the 1st combo (default)
5 points on the 3rd and 4th combo
5 points on the last two throw skills
5 points on blade instinct

Even though overall cutlass may do more damage, I feel dagger is a more balanced weapon, by the way I feel it swings faster than the cutlass and my built only has 3 steps for combo so you can get to the high damage ones really quick and really quick repeatedly.

Also the 2 throw skills are great to be used in conjuction with the combo.

And dagger just looks wicked and has wicked slashing sound instead of the cutlass' metal clanking noise when you use it. I can not stand that sound.
