I know a bit of that one. Before they fixed the "swim anywhere" glitch I'd be able to swim anywhere from Del Feugos secret beach and my friend couldn't teleport to me, he also couldn't see me when I returned to the beach, but at this time I was about level 9 so I couldn't really do anything with the brigans and co on the beach, so I never saw if I couldn't take damage.

You guys stumbled on the glitch by accident. It works 100% of the time if you know why that happened to you. PM if your interested, You need to be pretty convincing though.
