BEFORE you could revive.
I remember. You die, go to jail, come back out. I remember telling a new pirate a few months after the update came out: "It used to be so that when you die, you go straight to jail. You couldn't revive". I, honestly, like the revive better than not.
Before you could revive, you had to rely on other pirate's healing and your fast instinct to hit "T" or press the Tonic button. Plus, no healing potion from Lucinda. It was just "Oh no! I'm dead. Can I tp back?" in guild or crew chat. I honestly can't remember a time i died without the revive update, but i am sure there were many. Anyone else remember? ![]()

Also if you attack a strong enemy, then swim into the water, when the enemy kills you, you will stand up on the water and fall back, just like you would have before the revive update.

I liked the old system better myself, kept pirates under control. You didn't see lvl 8 pirates at the thrall room ( or at least not for long), I'm not trying to be rude but they don't belong there. Like any game each lvl has an area it can play and if you jump up to high you die plain and simple. With revive pirates feel free to do things they can't and then beg for help. I was at the thrall room the other day and had a lower lvl come in, ask me to be in crew, then asked why I declined. I told her I was looting and didn't care to spend my time reviving. Shortly there after she had 3 more pirates of a much to low lvl tp to her and they started running around, with all of them laying on the floor needing help I felt bad ignoring them so I revived each one and then left the area I was working so I wouldn't have to again. I played and died alot trying to complete quests so I know its no fun having to run back all groggy and start a new but please play smart and if you need help ask but don't play dumb and then demand/beg for help.

Before revive, you did NOT see levels under 30 prancing around Tormenta I can tell ya that.

There was also no one over level 40 either. And no enemys there as high level as they are now.

If my memory serves me right, they added level 50 enemies in Tormenta right after the revive feature.. then raised the cap level shortly after. I do remember a group of us mastered ( level 40 ) pirates going to Tormenta to take on the new higher level enemies ( over 40 ). It was a jaw dropping sight to see so many level 40's lying on their backs. I wish I had taken screen shots of it. |

Don't forget that at the time our weapons choices were limited. El Patron's weapons drops had not yet been initiated and our weapons were weak compared to what we have now.

I'm too young to remember these days ;p but I like this system. Although it does make me think what happened to the pirates code? "A pirate that falls behind is left behind." I guess they really ARE just "guidelines." ;p

Ahhhhhh.... the olden times......
Still kind of funny to think that pretty much forever the photo of reviving on the wiki was me reviving some dude. The photo was taken AGES ago, April 2010. Back when I was a level 45!! It is actually one of the older photos I still have of myself. Kinda sad. I had a bunch of super old piscutres but they were lost when i got a new computer. It seems like so long ago. Yet it really wasn't. You forget what it was like to be a "noob." Its so weird how nostalgic people can get over a game.
