Cove and Tormenta broken?

Oh. Was about to make a whole new thread for this. Good thing I was wandering around. Yeah. I saw this too. I would post pictures, but my Photobucket account isn't working. I might edit them in later. But anyways. I tried going back into my ship and landing, but it still was the same. Wonder what I did wrong? Must be a bad glitch.

I've had this bug several times. In one instance I was with a friend/crew member of the same level in a grotto. She could go back and forth through the portal and reported that it worked fine for her. All I could see was a seascape. I had to log out so that I was back in civilization.

This glitch of the empty portals seems to be happening a lot more frequently the past couple of days. As in, every second time I try one.

I also note that when the Port Royal graveyard - the one right beside Fort Charles - is covered by a yellow fog, the portal out of it NEVER works.

What is the purpose or meaning of the yellow fog?
