I guess I'm just lucky because so far, no crashes or bugs have resulted by playing the new update of Pirates Online.

You should definitly contact the developers on this one.

I'd start by turning your settings to low (besides special effects so you can see cannons and grenades and staff powers and such) which can lower lag, which can lower chances to crash.

I have experienced two problems;

1. My weapons keep freezing up. I can not use them, equip them or change them.
2. My pirate keeps doing things which I'm not tell it to. For example; continual running in circles and when I try and stop him he refuses to.


both of which are extremely annoying.

I've been playing on Test a little bit recently and my weapons keep freezing up too - can't use them, can't change them, nothing. Only way I fixed it was to log out and back in - that's a pain.

Also had the problem of not being able to use cannons on a friend's ship last night - tp'd back to any island then back to the ship and it was ok again.

As I said, these were on test and have been reported. I know quite a lot of people who play the test server who are great about testing and reporting everything they find. A lot of them have been test players on TT for years and are used to Disney's way of doing things - receive the bug reports, work on it a bit but go ahead and release to open anyway, then maybe fix it after that. Seen it time and time again on TT.
