Forgive me if I'm wrong, as I haven't been paying attention to the game much until recently, but I'm getting a feeling that there will be an update to follow. Around summertime most likely, since that's when a lot of players will be out of school and have more time to play.

"... and this may not be the end of the mysteries simmering beneath Padres del Fuego’s lava."

I just feel like this weapon, albeit a redeem code, is a sort of precursor to a new story quest; be it a large, Black Pearl-length quest (which I do hope for, considering it's been a looong time since the last update), or a mid-sized, Raven's Cove-esque story quest. And the recent news articles, in my opinion, are pointing towards one. Again, I may be wrong, but why would they say "...this may not be the end of the mysteries" if there's nothing else to follow?

I also think simply putting this weapon in loot, however (maybe just on Padres, similar to how one can only find Cursed Blades on Raven's/Tormenta), would have been a better idea in the long run for POTCO. Releasing it as a redeem code, players who aren't entirely active will likely just log on, redeem the code, and log off again. If they really wanted to keep players in the game, it should have been made lootable instead. Make the players log on and work for it.

Its a good observation that usually a giveaway precedes new content or a new update, so I will try and be optimistic. But, I wonder if this just a gimmick giveaway to keep us on the hook. After all, I'm sure they know how we react to such things.

I don't mean to sound snide, or anything, but "working" for it isn't fair. There are people who have every single legendary, and have 2 of some. Poor Ol' me, I don't have one. I've worked just as hard as the other people to find them. Why do they get multiple and doubles when I can't even get one? The redeem code seems only fair.

Well, yes, but I meant from the standpoint of the POTCO higher-ups, not the players. Trust me, I went for the longest time without finding a legendary (that didn't come from Smasho), and I really don't think I'll find one again, so I see this redeem code as a sort of blessing. But on Disney's part, putting the weapon in loot drops would have, hypothetically, created more activity, since more people would be online, looting, looking for it.

Point taken. I do find, however, this degrades the need for looting. I have spent my (pretty much) entire POTCO life trying to get a red weapon in a skull chest. Then, I just log on and get one with a code. Methinks this should have been famed, but I'll take it nontheless. I do feel a small (deformed, due to it being a code weapon) sense of pride seeing that Red in my Inventory.

I feel that it's help people loot more, wit the thing that charges with power the more guys you defeat? I'm always trying to get it up all the way.

To be fair to those who have more legendary than you, I think it's safe to say they have most likely worked harder. You can find those people on the top of the leaderboards with over 300k enemies defeated. If you get those numbers and still aren't getting luck, then sure, that wouldn't be fair.
