I managed to get them for my other pirates. The thought did cross my mind that the next blog might be about the Marceline Guild getting a hold of these weapons and perhaps make them available to players who were unable to obtain one this weekend? Just use the code to redeem them for a limited time only? I hope so.

I wouldn't doubt it. If they're going to actually be bringing out scimitars within the next year, then this event may be followed with a code. It was that way with cursed blades, in that first came the Cursed Seafang Blade, then the actual weapon class released later on.
