In the description for grape shot is says effective only against crew ship pvp and sea monsters. also there is a quest in tortuga that says to defeat two sea serpents. these are not eitc boats. the eitc is sea viper

also if u press ` or ~ it will bring a score card for ship pvp on the top of the screen still u let go of the button

This has been discussed so many times, yes there are probably going to be seamonsters in the new update but they were going to bring them out sooner or later judging by the grapeshot desc and the mercenary quests.
