GIMP is free and paint isn't all that great when you're using it alone and the rest listed all cost money.

Well, I got mine (excluding PSPX) in a bundle with the tablet, so they were technically free for me. Still, Shadow Cat's right about them costing money. Just to add though...
Photoshop CS3 is around $600-$700 Paint Shop Pro X is around $100-$150 A tablet is anywhere from $60 - $800 (no joke) and I'm not sure about Corel Painter. ^^
