Laptop? There's part of the problem.

You may think that it "should play the game flawlessly", but it won't. Not with that kind of setup. There are some things that notebooks just won't do as well as a desktop. Graphics-intensive games are one of them. It's one of the compromises they made in the design. Since you're on a notebook, your upgrade options are limited. You might try getting more RAM. The 2G that was suggested would be great. Also, try setting all the graphics options to their minimum settings. Turn off the music. Make sure memory conservation is "default" instead of "aggressive". Defrag the hard drive. And maybe even get rid of Vista and go back to XP. |

You can still get it. Despite what Microsoft wants, the Vista acceptance rate has been pretty low.
Personally, they will get my XP CD when they pry it from my cold, dead hands. |

Also, not all laptops are bad. Mine (HP Pavillion brand) runs pirates online great, only issues I have with pirates relates to my internet service and my laptop can't be blamed for that . It's specs are 128mb video card, 1gb ram, 2.0 ghz processor, and Windows XP and it runs great (on medium video/performance settings even, not low).
