Take Cover has gone through Great Debate as a skill - though for the most part One Point on it now is not a bad idea (noting - it is NOT a forcefield... you recieve LESS damage from incoming fire).
It works well for the Boss Battle, as well as for tight spots on the Ocean with the new Flagship Undead - hit it JUST BEFORE the enemies rounds are to strike your ship... and you may actually survive  Search more of this forum for the Cannon Build of some players - and their take on the skill
