Also, just be prepared...this can take a while.

Be patient and the rep will come. As Angel said above, you want to use your weakest attacks - no combos, no blade storm, no fully maxed swarm, nothing like that. Just hack, poke and blast away, mistime everything. You'll figure out what works best for your particular pirate. Keep in mind, more hits = more rep. So just go at it and good luck.
