Well yesterday was day 3 for me not able to get on. I still keep getting the send error report to Microsoft. I'm now sending bug reports to Disney starting with the number of days in a row that I can't get on. You gota wonder, with all the bug reports they must be getting, just how long it is taking them to the ones we are sending in.

...or give feedback on bug requests? Even just a "Thanks, we're on it!" would make me feel better about spending my time taking notes while I play.

A current bug list would be nice.

Bizneo:
As far as I know, both of our accounts are full access. At least that is what it says at the top. Not really sure what you mean by AD's only (Freebooter) and non AD's. We got our two accounts because we both registered for beta. Off topic here, but can anyone tell me how to put the game on another computer in our home? I trying just going from the link in the e-mails that we were sent, however, it says account already being used. I really would like to try the game on our faster computer. See you in port! |

1. Go here: https://apps.pirates.go.com/pirates/ 2. Click "Log In". 3. Log in with your beta username and password. 4. Click the "Play" button on the top right. On mine it was bright red. It will give you the page with the install link. |

I got this today from Pirates Online when I reported the Microsoft error (i also posted this reply in another thread):
Thank you for reporting a problem. Pirates of the Caribbean Online uses DirectX 9 as the default API to render graphics. If the version installed on your computer from your video card manufacturer is unsupported or corrupted, Pirates Online will then use an older version of DirectX. However, for better 3-D game display, you will want to update DirectX from Microsoft’s website. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en If you still experience display issues within the game, try changing the Graphic settings under the Options control panel. Be sure to click Save before you close the Options screen. Graphic settings that can be changed: Reflection •Off •Sky Only •On Shader Level 4 (requires a restart) •Off •On Shadows •Simple •Rendered Texture Detail Level (requires a restart) •Low •Medium •High •Maximum •Compressed Note: both Shader Level 4 and Texture Detail Level require a restart of the game in order for the changes to take effect. Thanks again for your email and we look forward to seeing you soon in Pirates of the Caribbean Online.

Fellow Frustrated Pirates, I decided to change my video graphics card to see if that was the problem, and indeed it was. I'm only a basic computer user, but I was able to install a new graphics card with 256MBDDR2 and now I can play POTCO on my HP XP desktop again.

I'm starting to think it's personal - although I have reported microsoft error messages several times a day this is what my one and only email from them (dated yesterday) says:
"Hi, Thank you for contacting Pirates of the Caribbean Online. Please do not reply to this message, as it is not an unmonitored e-mail address. If you are trying to unsubscribe from one of our mailing lists, please follow the directions at the bottom of the e-mail you received. This will ensure that your request is handled correctly and as quickly as possible. For the latest news, check out our official web site at: http://disney.go.com/pirates/online/index.html Regards, Pirates of the Caribbean Online" I wasn't trying to unsubscribe, all I was doing was reporting a bug - oh, and if I was trying to unsubscribe, there was nothing under the signature - I just want to play the game - btw - thanks for posting what they sent you - I did update my direct X but nothing changed - and can't even get to the options menu - dumb mircrosoft error message

WoW Ms.!! i got that same exact email yesterday also and was thinking...WTH? i didnt try to unsubscribe from disney games or any mailing list! I have also done everything you have that was advised to do...directx update...driver update for ATI Radeon hardware for my pc and it still happens!! i get the Microsoft error every time!! so don't take it personally....there are probably many many pirates out there that are in our same boat that aren't forum members that we know about so i guess we'll just have to wait for the next big update or public launch to see if we're in or out......it's been 8 days since we got cut so how ya doing? i'm frustrated no doubt but i've come to accept my fate and walked the plank...swimming in seas unknown at this point...lol

Sorry for the double post but I got another email which I found really irritating.
First, here is what is on the front/opening page of the POTC website for Specs: " Windows 2000/XP Pentium 3 800Mhz processor (P4 1Ghz rec.) 256 MB RAM (512 recommended) 400 MB disk space available 32MB graphics card (64 MB recommended) DirectX 9 or better Broadband internet connection" BUT here is what I got in an email: "Thank you for contacting Pirates of the Caribbean Online. The log files in your bug report indicate that your computer does not meet Pirates Online minimum system requirements, listed below: The current minimum requirement for Pirates Online Beta: Windows 2000, XP or Vista Pentium 4 2.0GHz or faster 1GB of RAM 128MB video card DirectX9 or better If you feel your computer meets the requirements listed above, and you received this message in error, please report a bug using our Report Bug web page: https://apps.pirates.go.com/pirates/support/feedback Thanks again for your email and we look forward to seeing you soon in Pirates of the Caribbean online." SO, obviously they cannot appeal to anything other than newer computers - which is sad - my computer isn't even a year old and I'm not finished paying for it yet! Only thing I'm lacking is the Pentium 4 - - mine is only a 3

Not being a computer geek by any means, I just went to DirectX 9.0 site and hit download or update - seems I already had it because it went to "finish" almost immediately - if you google DirectX 9.0, you should get the website with no trouble. Best of luck to you - now I can't even login

I am still trying desperately to figure out why I have so so much lag and freeze time. I can freeze for up to ten minutes at a time.
