Train A: New York --> Texas
Train B: California --> Texas

Train A: 1775miles @ 42mph = 1 day, 18 hrs, 18 min
Train B: 1485miles @ 25mph = 2 days, 11 hrs, 24 min

TRAIN A (from New York) would get there first.

I am curious as to why a train would only be traveling 25 mph on a cross-country journey though.

note: This is considering trains left center of state and parralleled major highways. If the trains didn't stop, they would collide with each other 12 miles west of Pecos, Texas along Highway 20 near the intersection with Highway 10.

Yay math!
