Probably just new staffs... though I think they should have been here long ago. If they are not spectacular I will be thoroughly disappointed in Disney. And, I also don't understand why Disney doesn't just tell us up front what is on the horizon... it's always a mystery. This is a game that I pay to play, I'd like to know what is to come, maybe even a few months in advance. I also wouldn't mind them working on an expansion pack like most other games do..!

But I do hope its staves., although unlikely, as it sounded like a single weapon.
If they want to make backstories, they should either not make it at all, or spend more time on it, and make a quest for it... This kind of "backstory" that everyone forgets in 2 days just seem pointless... If you want to make one... make one that makes sense.... and lasts...

Hope it is El Dorado's sword and quest and I can speak Spanish fluently so parts of the quest and names I could understand that other people couldn't.

I actually like the back story stuff. I like knowing the history of the weapon/quest/thing I'm doing. And they did say that know what messed up the system last time, so they should avoid that this time

Those Spanish and French stories were just useless "news" to try and keep us entertained. It had to do with Infamy coming out, not any real new update.

I disagree mate. Go into the news archives and read them all. Disney strings all this stuff together. Ye soon shall see how it all fits together.

The story was released after infamy, so it seems unlikely that ithad to do with infamy. Also, it sounded like Jolly Roger just got 2 undead captains for each side, so it is somewhat irrelevant to infamy .
It does, however, sound very exciting. Possiblely new weapon(s), 2 new powerful bosses, and if they spent some time (hopefully), new quests (although unlikely).

Disney makes their major news / test releases only on Thursdays, as far as I've seen...

I HATE all the stalling that they're doing. One major update, followed by FOUR WHOLE MONTHS of minor updates / boring news. What we need is constant updates to this game, like other MMOs.

And I thought On Stranger Tides would bring some change in Disney's attitude towards this game... I waited this long...

If anything, I think this whole game needs a major reboot. It has so much potential, but so little players because of a community they slowly removed the element of fun from. D needs to look at Star Wars: the Old Republic. The effort put into that game - the trailers, game play, everything - is far better than what's done here.

And if the game is rebooted (if ever that happens), they need to just remove this old glitchy Panda 3d engine and replace with 'Armada of the Damned' 's engine.
High graphics, realistic game play, very competitive.

Updates take a LONG while to happen. Release to early, a lot of bugs (Infamy). They have to get it just right timing so they iron out the bugs and not keep us waiting. Sadly, the ironing takes a while. Your dear Star Wars is most likely a game that doesnt have a lot of people playing, so they invest their money trying to get people to play. (trailers.) POTCO on the other hand is using their money to perform better updates then any other games, and therefore updates take longer. They use this 'boring news' as sort of a sneek peak on what is going to happen.

And Midhav, i think the difference between this game and others is that, i think that other games may be peoples livestock. I think the POTCO staff look at this as a way to make extra money.

After POTCO 4, i think this game will get a TON of extra money. I think the game will boom like crazy, and it will catch up to other games.

The PotCo staff don't look it as a way to earn money. It's their bosses! And their bosses have shown us just how inefficient they can be. They could have pumped in more money so that us players can get CONSTANT updates, but that hasn't happened. We should be having a Raven's Cove every month! You're right that way.. It isn't important for them. It's just a side-way for earning money. And I even agree with your last line - I do HOPE that PotC 4's success brings some much needed attention to our beloved game.

That's as far as what you've seen in this game. I play RS too, and that large game has constant updates, and a constant value of players which support the game. What I'm talking about is the while that's taken for "the ironing". It only happens because they stall to work on a bigger update, that they'd complete only by the end of the three months time of stalling. My "dear Star Wars"? It should be my dear POTCO! SW:TOR is a game that is currently in BETA testing, and yet for the effort put into that game, the support and players that it has received completely minimizes PotCo's existence. I don't hate this game or anything, if that's what you're thinking. In-fact, I've played this since mid-2008, and I have yet to touch the Old Republic. While this game may be just some sidewalk for D to earn money, it's kinda obvious that a company as big as D (LucasArts? Maybe not THAT big) put in the much needed money for developing the Old Republic. The problem D has created with this game is the deficit of investment of both attention and money. And that results in the understaffed and underpaid devs resorting to such stalling tactics. Like SEAKING said, it's probable that POTC4's success will bring in what's needed for the proper development of this game. I only suggested a "reboot" because of the endless glitches the developers are facing while making this game.
Anyway, I like this 'Boring News' (lore) XD.
