I got in early and activated my account. However, now waiting once again for another email allowing access to the site. Hopefully soon.....or what was the point of signing up early? ?? Unless it was just for hype.....

After lurking around some other places, I inferred that Pottermore WAS supposed to be sending out the welcome letters right after the Magic Quill ended. However, due to the London Riots, which just so happen to be in the area of the home base, they were unable to do so. Now rumor has it that the welcome emails are going out from August 15th on.

I just received the below email:

You have been selected for early entry into Pottermore!

We’re really excited to confirm that you are one of the lucky people selected for early entry into Pottermore, ahead of when it is open-to-all in October, to help us add finishing touches!

We will activate your account between mid-August and the end of September, so keep checking your inbox for our Welcome email.

When this arrives you will be able to enter Pottermore. In the meantime, you can check the Pottermore Insider for all the latest news, updates and announcements.

We look forward to welcoming you to Pottermore.

Aye, they've been sending those out the past day or so it seems. I think it's just something to say "Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you! Your account is still intact!" At this point, I'm holding onto the rumor of August 15th being when they really get up and going.

Got my email yesterday, around noon. These emails were, from what I've seen, sent out randomly if you're under 13, and by the day you registered if you're over 13. Hopefully they do this with account activation, as I registered on Day 1.

As for August 15, that sounds about right for Welcome letters, since the Congratulations letter says "mid-August."

Also, according to the French "Congratulations" email, Welcome letters will be sent out starting August 15th. So if you're in, expect your Pottermore account to be activated very soon! I'll probably be up all night Sunday waiting for mine.

Welcome letters are going out, and accounts are being activated! The first batch went out at about 9 AM CDT yesterday morning, and the second batch at 1:30 AM CDT today. This could mean that Welcome letters are being sent out every 12 or so hours, rather than once every day.

I got my letter during the second batch; here's a screenshot:

I still haven't received my email yet for early access.......I just don't get it. By the time I do receive it, everyone else will be in. LOL

Actually, Ravenclaw has the most with 22,469 students. Gryffindor is third for most students, with 21,718 -- that's less than Hufflepuff (21,803). Slytherin has the least amount of students with 21,461.

No. The Sorting Hat's decision is final. As Crest said, you'd have to delete your account and try again. Although, I don't recommend it; in my opinion, that's just as bad as trying to cheat on the Sorting Hat's quiz. It takes away some of the fun and you won't be sorted into the house that you truly belong in.

A new batch of emails was sent out today! So far three other guildies has gotten their Welcome emails this week. Also, I don't think we're allowed to post screenshots of Pottermore, otherwise I'd be taking loads of screens and posting them here. However, this was posted on the official Pottermore blog, so it's safe to post it here.

This shows a bit of how potions are brewed in Pottermore. After you've followed the recipe, you wave your wand to start brewing the potion. However, if you didn't follow the recipe precisely, the cauldron starts fuming green smoke, and you may be awarded one house point. There's a chance, however, that your cauldron may explode if you don't follow the recipe precisely. Not only will you need to purchase a new cauldron, but you'll also lose five house points. Follow the recipe correctly and you'll earn five house points.
