Grenades without a doubt, if for no other reasons than...
1. Hardest to obtain 2. Hardest to level 3. Although some uses, generally the least useful. |

Well said Zep! They take the most time and effort and give the smallest reward. Except that you are so glad when you do master them. The game would be better without them.

Different way of looking at it...
Quote:
1) The quest for grenades is the most challenging and in most cases requires teamwork. It is perhaps the only one that is best done in teams. If done alone it requires a very skilled pirate. It is an excellent test of a players skills. No other quest is as challenging. 2) Easiest to train by far. Stand behind the fence at kingshead and go from lvl 1 to 20 in an afternoon. You go from Note 20 to Note 24 and bank 8000+ gold. You save lvl 15 thru 20 skill points and drop them all on siege charge when it opens. 3) When you have a 5 skill point siege charge you can use it to defeat otherwise undefeatable enemies like stumps. At notoriety lvl 25 stumps are still very tough to beat but with siege charges they are a snap. There are some quests that require you to defeat high lvl enemies and this is the ticket to success in that area. Also you open up two very important passives Determination which increases your health recovery rate 50% and Demolitions which increases the area of effect for your grenades and cannonballs. Both of these are very useful. I can understand how why this isn't well understood. Most players just don't train their grenades when they first get them and then they find out later its much harder and the grenades become much less useful. On your next pirate try this and see if you don't pull out grenades more. |

Nades are hard, definitely, but I don't think they're the worst. In fact, once you have seige, they're kinda fun.
And hard to get? Yeah, but a challenging quest is a good thing, and there are so few now in the game.Pistol, on the other hand, is just as boring to level (no combos, no fun graphics, just point & click... repeatedly), and really has no usefulness once its mastered. That one I master first, and then pretend it doesn't exist. |

[QUOTE=CaptainGreenGene;125787]I see the same things you do but I look at them very differently...
I don't understand the fence thing. I see other just farming the dudes, but when I try, they charge thru the fence and K.O. me. Could anyone give me better insite? Until then, I hate grenades. EDIT: I am sorry I screwed up the quote. Hope y'all get the idea. |

I LOVE GRENADES. 1) I liked the quest even more before they changed it more challenging the better. 2) Paid for most of my War Frigates this way. 3) Determination is one of my favorite passive skills. My cannon rocks due to demolitions. I will be the first to admit they can take time to level after level 20, but if you keep them out ahead of other weapons by about 5 levels it is not bad. |

Sorry to those who like them, but i despise nades, for all of the reasons mentioned.
I also find them noisy and messy, which aggravates my natural "antsy-ness", so they are practically useless to me. The very last thing i will level is nades. |

But I dont agree with Zep, nades are my favourite wep cos they dont cause lag and they are great on the col flag when u end up with the nasty lvl 35 crew.
I have no problem lvlin them with smoke nades and stink pot the rep is good in kingshead all the way up to lvl 20 ish and by that time u r strong enuff to survive in tormenta with them. I cant see the fuss, I really cant.... GUN now thats a tedious story specially after the upgrade gun quests u tap-tap-tap... wait... tap-tap-tap yawnnnnnn tap-tap-tap... wait.... snorrrrr yer way to lvl 20 then they give u a paint stripper that not only decreases the amount of rep per kill but doesnt give u anything cool for all the ships u need to sink to get it and u cant swap it back... now if they gave u a 6 shooter OK, buuuut no ! Staff... pfft lagalicious! and too long to charge up, yawnnn some more! The potential with staff was endless, buuut nah!... We dont get to do the things it could do, if it could be used as a hand to hand wep as well as cast spells so u could actually clonk a thing with it then we would be lookin at a far cooler wep. ![]() |

Picking staff! Actually, it would be better if it WASN'T so powerful. I know too many pirates, they get in a tough spot or a jam, and the only thing they ever reach for is staff. They become one dimensional. (BTW, I like staff, but try to not rely on it.)

Undoubtedly the Grenades. My Lv50 Pirate's grenades are still Lv28, and, believe it or not, I have never mastered them. Not even when the max was Lv40/Lv25. Even now, I don't level them, but I find they do good damage, and are good for killing groups of enemies. They're just a pain to train ( No pun intended ).
Quote:
4. Have a large range of explosion, and can damage you and mess you up. 5. If it does hit you as well, it can really do some serious damage, and leave the Grenade's effect. 6. The new version of the Grenades quest is tedious and annoying. I hate it, plain and simple. I miss the old quest ( And other quests - especially the Story Quests ). Here are the good sides of Grenades, and the reasons why I LIKE them: 1. There's some thing with them where if you click the type of Grenade you are using, you skip reloading the Grenade. 2. They deal some good damage and have a wide explosive range. 3|A. Explosive, although very limited when first obtained, are good damage-doers. 3|B. Stink Pot is good for fishing up groups of enemies, although it can be risky with it's wide explosive range and the fact that it slows you down. 3|C. Fire Bomb's Burn effect is useful with the Wound effect Grenades have. 3|D. Smoke Screen isn't the most useful Grenade, is the choice of grenades because of how weak it is. However, it is very limited ( Being only 80 Smoke Bombs with the Large Pouch ), so it doesn't last forever. It also doesn't really lower the enemie's accuracy much ( But you can always assist it with Throw Dirt and Taunt - that will really lower the accuracy of your enemy ). 3|E. Siege Charge is the choice of Grenades if you want to kill a group of enemies quickly. It has a large explosive range, and is capable of dealing major damage to enemies ( I can kill a Lv50 Urchinfist/Thrall Captain in 4-5 Siege Charges ). However, it does serious damage to yourself if it detonates too close to your pirate - add that up with the Wound effect. Obviously, you don't want to use this Grenade for leveling. So again, the Grenades are my least favorite weapon, but I still like them because of the damage they deal out. Just my two cents, literally. |

I Agree with Zep Grenades are way hard to level unless you max them right when you get it.
Pluss they are just anoying its like throw wait 5 trillion years to reload then throw again. |
