PROLOUGE: The mighty Sun Cutter stood still, docked at her home port of Tortuga. A man stands tall at the helm, a determined look in his eye. He stares out at the sea with a mixture of respect, love, and hatred for it. His name is Jason Suncutter II, the son of the mighty privateer. His crew are asleep in their bunks. It is always this time of night that he reminisces on his life and his fathers life. With another swig of the most expensive rum he could steal a single tear flows down his face. He had just learned that his mother, Samantha, and his brother, James, had been killed in the great fire on Port Royal. And so goes the story of his life.
CHAPTER 1: Jason Suncutter I, father of our hero, was an educated englishman and menacing privateer for the Royal Navy. His ship, the Lightning Runner, was faster than any other privateering ship in the sea. Despite his bloodthirsty reputation, he was a kind and gentle man to those he knew, loved by his friends and family and respected by those he served with. He loaded chests upon chests into the War Galleon he had captured from his last crusade and gave one final goodbye wave to his family. However, this trip was special. His oldest son, Jason, was coming along on the journey to bring the riches he had plundered back to Britain, and give the government their share. His other son, James, was enrolled in the Royal Naval Academy on Port Royal. He was on his way to becoming a cabin boy, or hopefully a cadet in the Navy. A man in England, named Lord Jefferson, had blamed Suncutter of piracy by attacking Spanish ships after peace was declared. Jason had no way of coming by this knowledge on the high seas, and hoped to defend his stance. There was a secret motive for taking his eldest son along, if something were to happen to Captain Suncutter then he would take his place at the helm. After days of drifting, two Navy frigates came alongside him somewhere in the Atlantic. Captain Suncutter was informed that he would be escorted to Great Britain by these ships, and any retaliation would mean a death sentence for him. Captain Suncutter wasn't vain, he knew he couldn't sink these ships and defend his case. He had to accept their offer and follow them. Two months
later he arrived in Southhampton and was asked what the ship's name was. He hadn't gave the ship's name much thought. He came up with "Shadow Mongrel" and gave them that to write in the records. After riding a coach to London, he was greeted by several armed Navy soldiers and was restrained by them. He and his son were in shackles, and were taken to the manor of Lord Jefferson. Jefferson was exicted to see them arrive at the gates of his home. He knew that all of the gold and riches plundered from the Spanish Main by Captain Suncutter would soon be in his possesion. Jason and his son were given a large meal and a room to sleep in. The next day they went before a court to defend themselves. Jason Suncutter II was let loose, but his father was sentenced to hang. He was stored in a cell until the day before the execution date. His son and crew members fought their way through the security of the jailhouse and rescued Captain Suncutter. They had to battle reinforcements after the surviving guards had reported the break-in to the barracks down he street. After losing a good number of the crew, they came across a coach and rode it to Southhampton. They were stealthy enough to make it onboard the ship and kill the guards that were keeping watch. After attempting to sail the ship out of the habor quietly, a few Navy Galleons picked up on them and surronded them. It was time to make a last stand...
STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS!
